Cast of Characters
Nicknames and short descriptions of people who are mentioned in my journal.
The names of these individuals are followed by a notation of their relationship to me and the year in which they first appeared in my journal. Each year I have written a little bit about each person, if they are still part of my life at that time. Click to read more.|
Note: Boi is a nice way for a fag hag to refer to her gay male friends. Drag queens can also be bois, but they take it to a whole 'nother level, if you know what I mean.
Paisley BlueFeb 2004 Today I define myself a little differently because some of the ways I used in the past to describe me have changed. For nearly three years I found satisfaction and challenges through work, but as happens in this economy, I lost my job in January. At the same time, though, I have made a lot of positive movement with my artwork, with my second gallery showing ending earlier this month. The plethora of changes in me have helped me reconnect with all that is truly important inside, and that's not always an easy journey.
I now have 13 nieces and nephews whom I had the pleasure of seeing last Christmas. My family remains an important part of my life - both my natural family and my chosen family here in Seattle. After swearing off the dating scene after the experience with Lancelot last year, life surprised me with the gift of a relationship with Magickstar. Every milestone surpasses the last. I walk my path one day at a time, trying to remain open to the happy surprises the Goddess has in store for me.
Mar 2003 At 36 I have started to find some inner peace and answers to the questions I've always had about my life. Although far from perfect, I have made strides in coming to grips with my past, learning how to live in the moment, and overall achieving a balance in the different facets of my life.
For over a year I have been living with Michael and Mechanic who have, each in their own way, taught me some valuable lessons about life and accepting who I am. For over two years now I have been working at a nonprofit agency where I have been able to spread my wings and grow professionally and personally. I have even taken my first college courses - online, which to me is preferable to sitting in a lecture hall trying to not fall asleep.
I still have a sense of adventure and unquenchable curiosity that still get me into trouble at times. However, I would never want to lose the sense of awe and wonder I feel at living in this world. Perhaps at times I jokingly lament the passing of youth, but I'm also discovering that the best years of my life are those ahead of me because I can tap into the rich tapestries of experiences that have shaped me into who I am today.
Mar 2002 I am still a 35-year-old woman who is determined to live each day to the fullest. I refuse to live life in fear, although that is what has happened many times in the past. Still, today is the only currency of time I have, and I walk moment by moment, step by step, if need be. I am still married to CB and still engaged to Michael, but you never know what tomorrow brings. There is no man shortage for me in Seattle. It's more a matter of deciding what I want and going for it.
Oct 2001 I am now a 35-year-old woman living in Seattle, Washington. I am a survivor of many things, and a hopeful optimist about many other things. For the last year I have had my artwork published in a local newspaper, used as illustrations in children's sabbat stories, and I have also increased my private collection of works by a huge number. I have gone through some times when I was scared and timid and didn't want to leave my apartment, but that gave me a place to grow from. For the most part, I am more confident, stronger and self-reliant. At least, I like to think I am. I feel like I have grown a great deal in the last year and a half, but especially in the last nine months or so that CB has been gone. Being alone in a city this size makes you get tough... or die.
Aug 2000 I am a 34-year-old creative, empathetic, courageous and short li'l white woman who loves life and adventure. When I began this journal in February, I lived in Arkansas, but now am living in Seattle, Washington. I work part-time as a Ticketmaster Agent. Basically, I get paid to sit on the phone and talk, which tickles me to death. The really great part is that they say I'm doing a great job and they don't want to lose me - so they gave me a promotion and a raise, and every now and then give me nice little perks like free tickets or gift certificates. It never occurred to me that I would like this type of work, as in the past I had worked as a secretary in the medical and legal fields. I like how simple and undemanding this job is, and I like the flexibility of my schedule.
This past June I married my sweetheart, Country_Blu, aka CB. He is all the wonderful things I ever hoped for in a mate. We have lots of adventures together. It's not always honey and roses, but then, if the road was always smooth we wouldn't grow very much now, would we? Let's just say we have a knack for finding the weirdness in life, and we laugh more than any other couple I've ever known. I have a gift for drawing, which I use in many ways. Sometimes I make coloring pages and story books for my ten nieces and nephews. I also do a lot of goddess oriented art, and erotic art. CB has started a little notebook where he keeps the erotic drawings that he likes the best. I love it that he does that.
I have not been blessed with children myself. My siblings are making up for that for me. I have a special relationship with my nieces and nephews. CB has children, though, so that puts me in a new role, as a stepmother. My immediate family lives within a 50-mile radius of each other in western Arkansas. At different times my family has been scattered to what seems like the four corners of the earth, but right now most of them are concentrated in that one little area. I have lived all over the U.S. and in Europe, but my husband tells people I am from Arkansas. I find that ironic.
To me, life is always an adventure.
Country Blu aka CB2004 Just an update here to say that on very rare occasions I hear from my husband. Whenever I hear certain songs, I think of him and wonderful moments we had together. However, I look forward to ending this period of my life. At times I miss him and the joy we shared, but that was a long time ago and I am ready to move on.
2002 Somehow I am still married to CB but the main reason at this point is economics, having not had the money to file for divorce when I was sure it was what I wanted. I know even less about him than I did last year. For a while we were exchanging emails and he would call occasionally but I believe I have somehow pissed him off because it's been a long time since we've communicated. He's been gone so long that he's a fond memory and I pull out his photos to remind myself what he looks like. However, I believe he must have started a new life somewhere else and I'm not part of it.
2001 My grande passion left me in February and while it is true that he has returned from time to time for a few hours, sometimes even a night, he has not lived with me since then. As the months passed, I knew less and less about him. I don't know where he is, or how he spends his days. Sometimes he writes me emails, and sometimes he calls me. One thing that has not changed is the good memories we made. At least we have those. It is bittersweet how this promising relationship has ended. Bitter because I thought he was "the one" and sweet for those memories we made. I hope he finds peace and joy in life.
2000 CB is short for Country Blu. I use that two-letter nickname for him in the journal. He is my husband, a 40-year-old tall, strong black man, living with me in Seattle, Washington. I love to tease him about being forty. He tells me my time will come. I know it will, but no matter how old I get, he'll always be older. CB introduced me to sports, sharing his addictions to football, baseball, basketball, racing, and golf with me. Nowadays I am learning to root for the Seahawks, Mariners, and Huskies. We met over the internet, only to realize we had met nearly 20 years previously. CB and I often wonder what would have happened if..... He is a foot taller than I am; very strong, handsome, and polite. My nieces and nephews worship the ground CB walks on. I think the sun rises and sets with him. To me, he is the best person in the world and I am the luckiest girl in the world.
Michael2004 Michael has faced a lot of challenges in the last several months. At times we are in more contact than at other times but overall we stay in touch. I still enjoy watching him perform as a female impersonator, and when he sings, I always feel like he's singing just to me... nobody else is in the room... but one time when I asked him about that, he told me that he uses me to focus and that he's really singing to everybody. I prefer my fantasy, though. To his credit, in the last year he has lost over 70 pounds and he is looking fantastic! I just want him to find love and happiness, which is, after all, what all of us want.
2003 He and I have been through some interesting times together. We were engaged for about six months. Now we are great friends. I still admire him a great deal for certain wonderful characteristics that he has, one of those being that he still loves me and cares about me despite knowing my imperfections and limitations. He still performs in drag and I am still mesmerized by watching him perform. For the last several months he has worked as a bartender and also held a second job cleaning houses for obscenely rich people. I wonder how many people know the full extent of how bubbly and full of energy he can be first thing in the morning after a full night's sleep. One thing I know I can always count on from him is a big hug whenever I need one.
2002 Michael is so cute with his little boy smile, and when in his drag queen personna, still quite beautiful. Mid-Year Update: Michael and I are no longer engaged. He moved to Salt Lake City for three months, then moved back. He says he can't stand the idea that he might have lost his chance to be with me because of mistakes he made, and he has asked for a second chance, to try again. Time will tell...
2001 Michael is three years younger than I am, very handsome, and when in his drag queen personna, very beautiful. He has a warm heart and a great sense of humor, and somehow he can see right through into the deepest part of me. We were friends first, and on my 35th birthday, he proposed. Now we are spending a lot of time together, learning more about each other, and letting our love grow stronger. Sometimes I get all giggly around him, but he doesn't seem to mind.
Mechanic2004 As Mechanic approaches his 29th birthday, I try to look at him objectively and all my senses tell me he is still a good man with all the wonderful qualities I first saw in him. In addition, over time I have come to realize the truth of something he told me a long time ago. We are much better off as friends. Lovers come and go but best friends are there forever. I hope we will always be that to each other.
2003 Sometimes I think of Mechanic as being the hero in a classic novel. He has the good looks, the enchanting personality, and a smile that lights up a room. There is so much going on behind the scenes with him that even when his eyes are closed you don't know for sure whether he is asleep, in a manner of speaking. We have overcome a lot of obstacles and it has brought us quite close. I don't know where I'd be today without his objective comments, unwavering support, and incredibly selfless love. Countless times I send prayers to the Goddess that I have, in some small way, given him half as much as he has given me.
2002 Now that I have known Mechanic for a longer period of time, we have grown quite close. He is the most generous, open and loving individual I've met in a long time. He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He is 6'5" tall which makes him a good foot and a half taller than me. He has dark hair, eyes you could get lost in, and a beautiful voice - I love to hear him sing. He says we will always be best buddies, and I believe it. Everyone should be so lucky to have such a good friend as he is to me.
2001 The first time I met Mechanic I could not help but be impressed by his height and good looks. He's 6'5" with broad shoulders and the cutest grin that could melt anyone. He's known Michael for 12 years so they're like best friends. He is very responsible and mature, and most people assume he's a lot older than his 26 years. Getting to know him has been one of the great pleasures I've had this year.
ScrapperScrapper is one of my co-workers at Ticketmaster. She is in her 20's and has AIDS. She contracted HIV after being raped about 10 years ago. Sometimes she seems to be angry at the world, but from what little I know about her life, she has every right to be. I hope that she can find peace with life, because I can see that her heart is a good one.
Wisdom2004 Late last year Wisdom's father passed away, and it was time for him to return to Seattle. He lived with Mechanic and I for a few months while figuring out what his next steps will be. In February he hopped the train for California to pursue work as an artist. During his brief return to the Northwest, though, I had the privilege of getting to know him much better. Words fail me when I try to describe his generous heart and noble spirit, or the way he moves me. He's incredibly talented and has great stories to tell. Just don't fall asleep when he has a camera handy!
2003 This incredibly creative man has moved away from Seattle but fortunately we are still just a keyboard away from one another, sharing our strange sense of humor and detailed accounts of our lives with each other across the miles. He is now dabbling with 3-D modeling and combining that with his love of architectural design while he also helps care for his ailing father. I miss being able to visit and share a fine glass of whiskey with him.
2002 My fun-loving anarchist friend is still living in the same apartment as when I first met him. He still has the same furry beard that tempts my fingers to rub it, although it probably has a little more gray in it than before. When we visit, it is the wonderful interaction of two old friends who know each other well and find it not only enjoyable to stay in touch, but important to do so. At least it is on my part.
2001 When CB left me in February, Wisdom was a good friend to me. I have spent many a weekend at his place, partying, talking, watching movies, playing with the internet. We exchange email several times a week, and I always look forward to the digital creations he sends. Sometimes his sense of humor is very dark, but its just one more thing I love about this guy. I feel good knowing Wisdom has my back.
2000 Wisdom is a very interesting fella, just a bit older than CB, with a vast knowledge and experience database as well as incredible artistic talent and creativity. CB has known Wisdom for many years and they often sit together and tell stories about the good ol' days. The times I have had long discussions with Wisdom, I have walked away just hoping that I can retain all the wonderful things he has shared with me. I feel truly blessed to be his friend.
Teezer2000 Teezer is a 26-year-old man who was born in Hawaii and grew up all over the place as an Army brat, just like me. He is the most kind-hearted, funny, and sweet young man you could ever hope to meet. At this time he is homeless, and he works with Wisdom handing out food to the homeless in downtown Seattle. I find it irresistably funny when Teezer teases CB.
Twinkle2004 Twinkle lost his job last year, like so many others have done. While looking for work, he has explored his passion for collecting fashion dolls and dressing them up in hand-sewn haute couture. I believe he could make a living selling those on eBay but I understand it would be hard to part with something that brings you so much joy. He's as level-headed and fun-loving as ever. I wish I got to see him more often than I do.
2003 For most of 2002 I did not see Twinkle but we are back in each other's lives now. He is still working for the same company but no longer doing security work. I love to go by and visit him, especially when I need to see a friendly face of someone who is delighted at seeing me. Our schedules seem diametrically opposed but we always want to get together and relive some of the happier times of the past. He will always hold a tender part of my heart.
2001 Now that I have known Twinkle for over a year, I still think it a suitable nickname for him. For quite a while we had grown into a very comfortable routine, cooking dinners at his place and watching movies together. We know what each other likes. We share private jokes. He is a very private person, and occasionally I can pry him out of his apartment to go to the theater or to a movie. One of my favorite memories is going to see Margaret Cho and we were laughing so hard we were crying. He is very generous and loving and feels things very deeply, although that is something that few are privileged to see. There have been times I would have given my all to Twinkle, but he never asked for it. He switched from doing front office work to security, but I don't have to worry about him because he is very tough, and for a self-described radical fairy, he can really kick some a@@.
2000 Twinkle's nickname refers to the fact that his eyes are almost always twinkling with some private joke or humorous interpretation of events. From the first few times I spoke with him, he has always called me Miss Arkansas. He has kidded me about my home state, my accent, and President Clinton, but all in good fun. Twinkle is probably in his late 30's or early 40's, quite tall, big and handsome, and he is gay. He uses colored pencils to draw the most fascinating art, and I think he will be famous for it someday. In the meantime, he runs the hotel where CB and I live. He was kind enough to share his apartment with Gael, a friend who was in need. I respect Twinkle for that.
Gael2000 Gael is a medium-height medium-build guy who is just two years older than me and he lives with Twinkle. He is the opposite of Twinkle in many ways. He is straight, sometimes seeming homophobic but it is only in jest. He just recently emerged from a 14-year marriage, where he lost everything. He doesn't even make enough money to pay rent on a room of his own, because of the child support payments. Twinkle has been good enough to share his apartment with him. He is a very gallant, friendly man, who thinks very highly of me, and has been there for me when I needed help a few times. Often he brings up his Gaelic heritage, which is how he earned his cute nickname.
Sharon2004 In January when I lost my job, Sharon did not even know in advance that I was going to be let go. She found out on the same day that I did. When escorting me to my desk to collect my things, she started to cry, as did the entire team of people with whom I worked. Upon later reflection, I decided it was better to have it end this way - with them having fond memories of me - than for it to have been a bad ending. I learned a lot of things from her and she helped me to be a better person.
2003 She doesn't get a lot of mention in my journal, but Sharon is still a central figure in my life. She has encouraged me to try things that seemed scary because she knew they would help me grow. She has patiently listened and helped me, and I continue to strive to make her proud. Going to work isn't hard when you love what you do, and its even better when your supervisor is someone you respect and care for. She's incredible.
2002 Sharon is still ultra-cool and now that I've known her almost a year, I can say that I would hope we would have become friends even if we had never worked together. She's sharp, coming up with great ideas and interesting incentives. She's beautiful, putting a lot of time into taking care of herself. She can be hard when she needs to be, but fortunately most of the time she allows her real, nice self to show.
2001 Sharon is an ultra-cool corporate in a business suit and fishnet stockings. I consider her to be the closest I have ever known to a mentor. She hired me, she supports me and gives me feedback, and we are honest with each other in our weekly meetings. I do not know if she is aware of it, but I would do just about anything for her, to make her proud. I knew within the first two weeks working for her that I could learn a lot from this lady.
Peace2001 With her long hair and peace symbol pendant, Peace reminds me of a mellow, easy-going hippie, at least in appearance. I find her to be very intelligent with a sense of humor similar to mine. She helps me work on boundaries and reconnecting with my emotions. We have been meeting long enough that I really, really trust her.
Doc2001 I started seeing Doc after the rape and assault events in September. He earned this nickname because he looks like Doc in the Back to the Future movies. He's very warm, friendly, and his smile just instantly puts you at ease. He uses rather unorthodox therapy methods and I only saw him briefly.
Angel2001 Angel is one of the first lesbians I've ever met. She and her companion, Butch, have been together for quite a while, living with Angel's two children. When Michael and I moved into her home in November 2001, we got along really fine. As she got to know Michael and I, and see the dynamics of our relationship, things got kind of rocky. We remain on friendly terms, though.
Butch2001 Butch is a woman who definitely seems to fit her nickname well. I don't believe I've ever seen her in a dress. Those kind of things don't matter, though, because she is very kind and I have found her to be quite tolerant and easy to talk with. I hope she and Angel are happy together for a long time to come.
Fairygirl2001 This sweet child has very fair skin and beautiful hair. In a way she has an ethereal aura. She is deaf, so in knowing her I have learned a little bit of sign language. From the first day she met me, she took a shine to me, wanting to show me her toys. You know when a child wants to show you her toys, it means she likes you.
Scorpio2001 This man thinks of himself as an old, tired drag queen but he has a heart of gold. When Michael and I moved from Kent to Seattle, we learned that Scorpio lived in the same building that we were moving into. I've known Scorpio a long time, from the building that CB, Twinkle and I used to live in. Over time I've realized that he, like most people, is just scared of being alone. For the last several months he has been living on unemployment although he used to work two jobs at one time. He's deceptively strong, able to lift things with ease that cause Mechanic and Michael to be astonished over. Heck, one time Scorpio even picked me up, and I'm not a little girl!
Mama2004 While I still live in the same regional area as Mama, we do not see each other socially anymore due to the events surrounding Blue's hospitalization. I know he lost his cushy position, and I do not know where he has gone or what he has been doing since then.
2003 Leaving the job at 7-Eleven, Mama found an interesting and, from my point of view, rather cushy position as a housekeeper for a well-off gay businessman. He has become known for the fundraising shows he puts on as a drag queen, and he's also a regular at the karaoke shows. I have learned to appreciate the song Amazing Grace as I have listened to him sing it nearly every week. Out of pure friendship I built a website for him, too.
2002 With his raspy voice and mother hen ways, Mama has earned her nickname. She likes to perform in drag and works the graveyard at a 7-Eleven. Most people refer to him as a her. She meets interesting people and her soft heart often leads her to take these 'children' home. QTBoy has been her friend for years, and they have moved from place to place together. They are not a couple, but they look out for each other. Isn't that what friendship is about?
QTBoy2002 QTBoy is the best nickname I could give this young 20-something man. He's thin and cute and knows it. He is as 'out' as any gay man gets, he's sweet and caring, and will go to great lengths to take care of his friends. He has an interesting way of making a living and lots of people who show their affection for him. I love to hear him laugh because you know it comes from his soul.
Queen2002 Queen is one of the most beautiful drag queens I've ever seen. Whether dressed as a boy or a diva, she is kind and I enjoy her company immensely. She lives with Escort and is very active in one of the local courts, having recently stepped down from a reigning title. Some of my best memories of her are watching her performances, which are always full of energy and beauty.
Escort2002 This young man has lived with Queen for the last five years or so. He's tall and thin, and due to a terrible accident in the past, has lots of plates and pins and wears a brace. However, it was months before I knew it and even longer before I'd ever seen it. He is very opinionated but I always thought he was nice.
Trixie2004 Next to Mechanic, I would have to say Trixie is the most important person in my life in Seattle. She has helped me get through so many things and we've also shared a lot of laughs along the way. When I don't see a way to go forward, she helps me see options and paths that were not always obvious to me. After losing my job and my health insurance, regulations made her unable to see me anymore but I hope to be able to fix that... I really need her.
2002 I decided it was time to have someone to talk with again, and Peace had been promoted. In her place I am now seeing Trixie on a weekly basis. She's a cute southern gal with red hair and sweet as a button. She works with me on everything and keeps an open mind about the strange twists and turns of my life. We even communicate via email which I think is very cool.
Rainbow2002 What a remarkable young man Rainbow is - I liked him from the first moment I met him. He's young enough to be my son, but I think he's got a maturity that far exceeds his 20 years. He lives way down in the southern part of the county and manages a pizza place. From the gay perspective he is probably everything that a man could want - good looking, smart, responsible, sweet, kind, affectionate, funny... I could go on. I feel honored to be one of his friends.
Opera2004 Opera has been living with a man who seems to be her perfect companion. Together they have a weekly television show on a public access channel and I built a web site for her, as well. Occasionally we all meet together at a local bar to sing karaoke, and at those times, of course, she brings down the house.
2002 This woman is an accomplished individual who has survived a lot of things in her life. She is very close to Mechanic and in turn is also close to me. She has a fantastic singing voice, is devoted to those she is close to and has some interesting ideas about who is really in charge of this country.
Rex2004 Late last year I was about to give in to Rex's pleadings that we re-unite. However, as has happened before, when he had the chance to have me, he backed out... lost his nerve... I don't know what to call it. I will remain his friend but I know that he is holding onto a relationship that is in the past, and its better that it stay that way. I can't allow myself to be emotionally torn up like that anymore. Life is too short to spend it looking backwards.
2003 Rex has decided that we belong together again and calls me constantly to hear my voice and tell me he loves me. I value his friendship because we are able to talk about absolutely anything. He does not judge me; in fact, he shows a great deal of curiosity about my life and my opinions. As he is starting to show signs of getting older, it is like a wake-up call for me that time does not stand still - even for Peter Pan.
2002 My first ex-husband whom I married when I was 17-years-old, I have known him longer than anyone in my life excluding birth family. We met in Karlsruhe, Germany, and were married for five years. Since our divorce we have stayed friends, much to the puzzlement and amazement of friends and family alike. If you ever wanted to know anything about modern pop music trivia, he'd be the one to ask.
Red2002 Red is an interesting and chaotic soul who met Mechanic online. Their brief relationship was never exactly smooth and time was quickly able to tell that it did not have a future. I hope he gets the help he needs.
Blue2002 This young man is Mechanic's special friend and they originally met online. In late October, Mechanic flew out to Columbus, Ohio to meet him but they both preferred Lexington, Kentucky. Having not yet met him in person its hard to describe him but he seems very nice, has a cute Southern accent, and can talk on the phone for hours. I like that in a friend.
Wing2003 The first new person of 2003, Wing is a very handsome, charming man who works in real estate and also does astrological charting on the side. He made me laugh when we met by saying that he he sometimes was able to advise clients on the right time to buy a house based on the stars. He introduced himself to Mechanic's mother by saying, "I have a crush on your son." Woah!
Lancelot2004 Lancelot, whom I now call "Scott-not-Scott," was the major reason why I stopped writing in my journal for most of 2003. While we were physically in each other's presence, he was intoxicating to me, but thankfully I learned that he was not telling me the truth on too many important issues. When he first approached me through email he said his name was Scott -- but after a few months he admitted that it was not his real name. I have no idea who he really is - and the fact that he got so close to me without disclosing that most basic fact was very disturbing. I am less trusting the older I get, mainly due to experiences such as that.
2003 This man is a bit taller than me, doesn't look his 44 years, and has the most beautiful eyes. We met online when he emailed me after reading in my journal. We like a lot of the same things and write voluminous emails to one another. On our second date we held hands while walking in the rain -- a favorite memory.
Daisy2003 Earlier in the year Daisy moved to Seattle with a friend from Missouri. They did not stay long but in that time she and I bonded and became good friends. She is a lively, tall, and beautiful young woman in her early 20's. She has survived a lot, including the discovery that the man she was in love with for two years is gay. She and I can burn up the phone lines between Missouri and Washington.
Brandon2003 Brandon is a tall, good-looking man in his 30's but you would swear he's in his early 20's. In drag, you could not tell he is not a woman, but I think he is a cute boy, too. Our senses of humor are delightfully similar and I enjoy his company.
Magickstar2004 While I have known Magickstar for three years we only saw each other socially, usually at Wisdom's house for the legendary Uno games. In December 2003, he began visiting my home frequently. Wisdom saw fit to encourage us in a love connection kind of way, but nobody imagined our relationship would take off the way it did. He is nearly seven feet tall, making him about two feet taller than me. He has long, gorgeous hair and beautiful eyes. His views on magick and many other important issues match closely with mine. His star burned bright and hot in my universe, illuminating fundamental truths about ourselves. I have begun to smile wistfully when thinking about him, wishing him love and joy, while I move forward.
Cherry2004 This 20-year-old man is delightful to have around and has many deep thoughts and ideas. He started dating Mechanic and along the way he and I became good friends, too. While his dress and adornment may seem shocking to some, I find it refreshing to experience his energy and enthusiasm.
Eddy2004 Finding a nickname for this 20-year-old guy was not difficult. Immediately I knew his name had to represent the duality of energies flowing through him, because while he appears smooth and calm on the surface, worlds collide within. He is impecccably polite and respectful to others. In what must be a difficult situation, he always gives the impression that he is fine, don't worry about him. Yet I have seen the eddies that swirl beneath those calm waters and this makes him very interesting, to my mind.
Herne2004 I believe we had to take our time becoming friends because, at least partly, it seems he must guard his heart and keep a shield up around the deeper core of his being. He lives simply, at least now at the time I know him, yet at one time he was on the corporate fast-track.
