The Adventures of Paisley Blue

This weekend has been very slow-paced and now that it's late Sunday night, I'm glad that it was so relaxing. Thinking on how busy I was last week, I'm sure I needed the rest. It's just that during the weekend hours I had hoped to get some things accomplished around the house, and well, yes, at times you could even say I fretted over it.

A discussion I had with my sister this evening helped me put everything in perspective again, though, and I feel a lot better about it all. There's really no reason to beat myself up for not deep-cleaning my apartment in 48 hours. I can be glad of the things I did accomplish, though:
  • I did three loads of laundry.
  • I washed a couple dishes, as they were needed.
  • I took the trash out (not exactly a small chore). LOL
  • I cleaned the toilet bowl (not exactly a pretty chore). ROTFL
  • I changed the bird's water and food.
Okay, so maybe changing the bird's food and water shouldn't count as housecleaning-type chores. After all, we love our little boy, Zeus. Even if he does screech ungodly loud sometimes.

Friday I got off early from work and Mechanic and I did a bit of running around, doing errands. Included in that was taking Rainbow from work to home, where Mechanic got under the hood to see what he could do to help fix the transmission. What was going to be ten minutes turned into about four hours.

I passed the time by talking on the phone and by sleeping. I don't really remember coming home or whether I went straight to bed or not. I do remember that Mechanic apologized for it all taking so long... and he said I didn't say anything like "Oh it's okay" so he was feeling bad. I didn't mean not to say that. I guess I figured he knew it was okay. I mean, I didn't sit there and bitch all those four hours. I did my best to occupy myself while he was helping a friend.

One way I look at it is that he has a wonderful heart to help people that much. It goes along with how much I respect him. How could I be upset about that? He said he would make it up to me Saturday night... and we did have some laughs, but he fell asleep early.

Another thing on my mind this weekend is the pain that Mechanic has been in with his back. He mentioned today that he is considering going to the doctor this week because it's been two weeks and its not getting better. I don't know what to think or expect about what they might do... I just want them to help him feel better.

So now I begin another big week... I know I'll be working long hours tomorrow. First thing in the morning I have a doctor's appointment. Tuesday afternoon I have to take off to take care of some business. So I have to make up the time at work, but I don't mind at all. I really do love my job. I feel so lucky to have found this position.

I was supposed to work on composing an essay this weekend on why I should qualify for a $1,000 scholarship from my work. I will do it tomorrow, though, and tell you more about it if I get it.

That's all for now. Play safe, kiddies!
