Poltergeist: the Legacy Thanks

We wish to thank the creators of the TV series

Poltergeist: the Legacy

Richard Barton Lewis, Pen Densham, & John Watson.

Without their vision & perseverence the world of PTL would never have existed.

Nor would that world have existed without the talents of the writers, directors, cast

Derek de Lint as Dr. Derek Rayne
Martin Cummins as Nick Boyle
Robbie Chong as Alexandra Moreau
Helen Shaver as Dr. Rachel Corrigan
Alexandra Purvis as Katherine "Kat" Corrigan
Patrick Fitzgerald as Fr. Philip Callaghan
Daniel J. Travanti as William Sloan
Kristin Lehman as Kristin Adams
Camille Mitchell as Sr. Ingrid Rayne

& crew

who all worked long hours to bring the illusion of
the Legacy to life.

We also wish to thank MGM, which partnered with Trilogy Entertainment Group, in the production of the series, Showtime, which aired PTL for its first three seasons (1996-1999), and the SciFi Channel for Season 4 (1999-2000), as well as all the local stations that syndicated the show.

On a personal note or two...

So often when churning out a TV series... the haste, the exhaustion... the less than perfect way it often has to be done in order to remain on schedule... makes it difficult to set aside one's cynicism and to remember that there is a purpose to it all beyond a paycheck.

That purpose is twofold in an era of stress & tragedy.

It offers pleasure & escape to people sorely in need of both.

As Nick Boyle might say...
"Life's a bitch, then you die."

Secondly, it provides noble heroes,
whose courage and ideals we can try to emulate in our everyday lives.

How can one of our rotten days possibly compare to facing down a demon... or the Anti-Christ himself?

Ahhh.... I can hear the sarcastic comments even now
... but it's true.

Dare to believe it.

TV "schlock" can make a difference in lives.

Just remember all the police officers and scientists whose careers began with a youngster's discovery of
Sherlock Holmes or Star Trek.

For me, personally,

the character of Derek Rayne touched something that few characters or historical personages have...

For this I must thank Derek de Lint for his portrayal.
I must also thank
Daniel J. Travanti, Martin Cummins, and Camille Mitchell
for their parts in the character interplay that originally stimulated my imagination.
Many of the stories at this site found their origins in those relationships.

You set free an imagination & inspired a muse
... & it's been a hellava lot of fun.

Thank you all... creators, cast, & crew... for all the pleasure you have given & will continue to give.

I'd also like to thank my writing partners:

Susan Lay
Selena
Debbie Wilson

Thank you, too, to

Sue Morrison

for allowing me to host her stories
& her photos of Angel Island & Hatley Castle.

... and thanks to all those who have betaread & who have offered much appreciated feedback over the years.

Thank you all.

Without you, what's the point?
