There are a lot of webpages out there dedicated to Ronin Warriors and a lot more to Gundam Wing, but when I started poking around, I started noticing what there were deficiencies in. I started out scoping the 'net for Kento pages, and was very dissapointed at what I found. There were a few sites, two or three of which were excellent, but they were nothing compared to the bulk of Rowen or Sage pages that were a lot more easily found, and in searching I also ran into a lot of "anti-Ken" propaganda. So I decided to fight the darkness, and build a Kento character page, since I liked him and since it was so clear that another page would be another useful sanctuary for others like me.
Then I started watching Gundam Wing, and I loved it from the moment I figured out what the hell was going on (that's what happens when you start watching something like that in the middle; you spend a few episodes fairly lost). I had my favorite characters of course... Wufei was not one of them. (Neither was Treize at first, and just look at the pro-Treize lectures I spew out now.) I, like most of the Gundam watching group- thought he was a misogynist flake and didn't understand how Sally resisted the urge to cuff him. Then I noticed the Gundam trend on the 'net... talk about making me laugh! You want Heero sites? Tons. You like Duo? Heh, you and EVERYbody else. Think Quatre's the cutest thing since God created puppies? Take a number and stand in line... you're somewhere behind me. There aren't a lot of Trowa sites, and there aren't a lot of Wufei sites. This didn't bother me in the least at first. I went searching for OZie sites... and this is where I saw the light. There were next to none. A few Zechs sites, and a few Noin/Zechs sites, and if you look real hard you might dig out a few Treize/Une pages, but that's about it. I was deeply offended by this, and then I got offended by the lack of Trowa and Wufei pages.
I already knew my page name, and I contemplated adding Wufei into it just for the fun of it. No harm, no foul, right? It's not like I'm adding something onto my page that everyone and their grandma has. (If you want a Trowa-dedicated site, you won't be getting that out of me... try yelling at someone else.)
So I started scanning my Gwing tapes- again, and "paged" through Episode Zero looking for "Wufei moments". Somehow, this resulted in me actually liking Wufei a lot, and I don't quite know how that happened... (Now, I think I honestly like everyone in the series- except Tuberov and Dermail, which are just crotchety old men who don't know how to fight a war gracefully and don't value human life.)
And that is why this page exists. Not because there aren't good character pages for Ken and Wu-man (or for his Excellency or Spider-boy either, for that matter), but simply because I felt that one more wasn't gonna hurt no one.
