Museology:  Is the study of not only the types of museums, but also the concepts, procedures, and theories pertaining to the history, background, role they play in society using specific systems of research, interpretation, education, organizational structure in relationship to the sociopoltical, economical, physical environment and the visitor.  "Museology is about the human propensity to collect."  (Martinson, John P.  The Changing World of Museology in Relationship to the Small, Rural Museum, Masters of Arts, Vermont College of Norwich University, Montpelier, Vermont, September 1999).
