I woke up early on Saturday and meandered down to the resort's main pool that had a waterfall and a water slide in the form of a Mayan temple to go along with the Spanish theme of the resort. It was still a little chilly at 6am, but it was nice to be alone, read a book, and get in a few laps – to just enjoy being on vacation. Plus there was the hot tub to warm up in before heading back to the room to clean up. After breakfast from the Pepper Market (cheese danish), the entire group headed back to Animal Kingdom. Emily's family had not been there yet, and there were a few more things I wanted to experience. My parents, Doug, Emily, and I walked the trails of the Oasis Exhibits and Discovery Island Trails before meeting up with the rest of her family to see the 3-D "It's Tough To Be a Bug" in the "roots" of The Living Tree, the icon for Animal Kingdom. After the show, my brother and I went on the Primeval Whirl coaster before the five of us again headed over to Epcot.
After lunch (Diet Coke and a turkey sandwich and Coke) at a French bistro in France (World Showcase), my parents and I split off from my Doug and Emily to go see O' Canada (a 360° film on our neighbor to the north) and ride Maelstrom (an historic ride through Norway's past) before we had to head back to the resort to get cleaned up for dinner. Tonight, the group (minus Crissy, Jason, and the kids) was heading to Downtown Disney. We had a delicious dinner (another excellent mixed drink, artichoke/spinach dip with fried flat bread, the Wolf Sirloin w/ vegetables, and white chocolate cheesecake for dessert) at Wolf Gang Puck – owned by the famous chef by the same name. Then we did a little shopping before going to see La Nouba, Disney's exclusive showing of Cirque du Soleil. I've seen the shows on TV many times, but seeing it in person is breathtaking. It was an experience I'll never forget!
