Written and prepared by Mr. James V. Miller and Mrs. Margaret Masson of Kilbarchan of Scotland, this is a must for your library and vacation planning and an excellent companion to the Clan Cunningham Society of America, Inc.'s "Clan Cunningham Origins, Heritage and Traditions."

This well researched 66-page spiral-bound book, now in its third printing, is literally packed with information about the history of the Cunninghams down through the ages, with a description of the major and minor families and branches. Complete with illustrations and maps, this is the first publication to trace the beginnings of our Clan through the turbulent history of Scotland and how our Clan Cunningham Chiefs helped shape the nation. Alexander: First Earl of Glencairn: This colorful lithographic-style print presents a brief summary of the Cunningham origins, an illustration of Alexander Cunningham, 1st Earl of Glencairn, on horseback and our tartan and shield.

Finlaystone: The Seat of the Earls of Glencairn:This marvelous portrait shows a portion of Finlaystone house and grounds in beautiful color. Sir Alexander Cunningham, made Lord Kilmaurs and later the 1st Earl of Glencairn by King James III for his battlefield prowess, moved the Seat of Clan Cunningham to the castle at Finlaystone in 1484 where it remained until 1796 when John Cunningham, 15th Earl of Glencairn died without issue.

Sacking the Montgomerys: This print presents a snapshot in time of a fierce battle during the 300 year feud between the Cunninghams and the Montgomerys when in 1528, on a dark night, led by William Cunningham, 4th Earl of Glencairn, Clan Cunningham and its allies swept down from Renfrewshire to raid and burn the Montgomery's Eglinton Castle.
