Edging Knife
This is my favorite gardening tool. I use it to remove grass and weeds from around paving stones, walks and drives. I cut sod with it, dig with it and even use it to pry up sunken stones. I love it! 8" long with 2.75" blade.

Lawns are often hit the hardest in a drought. Reduce or eliminate nitrogen fertilizer
and increase potassium fertilizer. Nitrogen encourages lush growth--a real water slurper--but
potassium encourages general plant health.

If you have a perennial that's been severely stressed by drought, cut it back by about two-thirds.
It will have less foliage to support in relationship to its roots.

Plant Props
I also like these sturdy plastic-coated metal plant props to hold top-heavy flowers upright. I just push them into the ground and hook the top loops around the stems. 24" high.

"Don't knock the weather. Nine-tenths of the people couldn't start a conversation if it didn't change once in a while." -- Humorist Kin Hubbard (1868-1930)
