Amaranth Academy of Magic

A Harry Potter RPG

School Rules

*These rules are written in character and are to be followed by the characters of the RPG. Roleplayer rules can be found here.*

On behalf Amaranth Academy of Magic, we would like to welcome you to another wonderful year at our school! We are looking forward to sharing the school year with you, and will do our best to make sure this year is safe, fun, and all around great for all students.

The following is a list of rules and regulations to be followed by all students. Anyone caught breaking any of these rules will be punished as the teachers and I see fit. Punishments may include the following:
>Detention (to be given out by a teacher or myself),
>Parental Involvement,
>Withdrawal of privileges,
>And in the most severe case, expulsion from the school.

1. Students must be in their full school uniform while attending classes and within school hours (from the start of first class at 8:30 a.m. to the end of last class at 4:00 p.m.). Students are allowed to dress down before and after school hours, on weekends and on holidays (including school festivities such as dances).
*note: You can click here for a description of the school uniform.*

2. Students are forbidden to visit houses other than their own, even if they have been invited by a student of that house.

3. The kitchens and the cemetery are off limits to students unless they have permission from a teacher to be there.

4. Students are not allowed to leave their houses after 10:00 p.m. and before 5:00 a.m. on school nights and after 12:00 a.m. and before 5:00 a.m. on weeknights (except in the case of a school festivity). Students may stay up as late as they wish as long as they are in their house-however, it is not suggested, particularly on school nights. A healthy body equals a healthy mind, and plenty of rest is required to function properly during the day.

5. Teacher’s dorms, corridors, classrooms and my office are all off limits to students unless they have been invited by a teacher, or the teacher is there with them. If you wish to visit me in my office, you are more than welcome, but make sure you knock before you enter.

6. The library is open from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on school nights and from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. on weekends. To visit the restricted area of the library, students must have a signed permission slip from a teacher.

7. Students are to show the utmost respect to fellow students and other teachers-this means no name calling, no fighting, and no racism, sexism, or any other sort of “ism.” Amaranth is an open and accepting school and behavior of this kind will not be tolerated.

8. Student duels are not permitted unless supervised by a teacher. Any student caught dueling will be automatically suspended.

9. The forests behind the school, and anything else off school grounds (the mountains and anything beyond) are forbidden to students unless they are with a teacher.

10. Punctuality is essential. All students are expected to be on time for classes, school gatherings, and assemblies.

11. Students must show up for all classes, unless a student is not feeling well, in which case he/she is to report directly to one of the nurses. The student must then have a signed note from the nurse confirming his/her absence from class. There are no exceptions for this rule. Any student caught skipping class will be punished as the teacher of that class sees fit.

12. Finally, and most importantly-enjoy yourselves! School is an excellent opportunity to meet new friends, and to learn new things and grow as a person. These years are possibly the most important years of your life, so make it count!

Yours sincerely,

Carina Arvadian
