Black Eyed Katy --> Moma Dance
This song is totally oblivious to my knowledge, but thanks to the Pharmer's Almanac, it has been submitted for your knowledge. Written by Trey, and played without a lead singer, this song debuted on November 13, 1997, in Las Vegas, Nevada. It is more of a funk/jam piece that was added the growingly popular style that Phish is known for. Being a jam song and all, it was closely related to the other funk/jams Phish played.
Eventually, the song morphed into what we now know as Moma Dance. The only catch with this song title change is that the Moma Dance you may know from the album "The Story of The Ghost" is different than the live version that would resemble Black Eyed Katy, because the chord changes were not included in their studio version. This song has only been played as Black Eyed Katy for seven times before it became Moma Dance with lyrics. It's another rarity for you to search for, because it is not on any of Phish's albums.
All throughout I gaze and glimpse you
Nothing ever did convince you
See you when you're all alone
It's not the person, I'm not known
The moment ends although I feel winds
Blowing differently then ever before
And they're pushing me further from shore
The moment ends though I feel winds
The moment ends the moment ends
The moment ends the moment ends
Up the river, taking sail
Mind the skipper will not fail
He'll bring out wine it will be fine
Just heed the order, watch the sail
The moment ends though I feel winds
The moment ends the moment ends
The moment ends the moment ends
