A day come when I weighted myself nearly cried
when it read 211 lb.. I have always battled with my weight but I never
thought I would ever weight over 200 lb.. This shock sent me into action.
I started looking on the net for ideas on weight loss, knowing that I have
a big problem with most types of diets and also knowing that my change
in lifestyle in the past 2 years has been a big contributor to my weight
gain. (Hopefully I will have time soon to put up a page telling more about
I happened to run across Gails Weight Loss page and all the Journals everyone
there has put online. They were great! I think I sat and read everyone
of them at one sitting. Then I happened across Pam's Low Carb Page and
I was suddenly drawn in by her wonderful style of writing. After reading
her journals and her other pages on Low Carb Dieting, I went to the store,
bought Dr. Atkin's Low Carb Diet Book and started it right away.
I will be putting more up on these pages as
time allows but for now I just wanted to get my journal started and to
say a thanks to everyone out there who has been brave enough to put up
a page about their struggle with weight loss.... You have all been an inspiration
to me. Thanks!
I found a great program for dieting...it is called DietWatch
Diary. Download it for free! It is especially great for the low carb
diet because you can create your own diet plan and you don't have to work
around a low calorie one! Let me know what you think.
**UPDATE** I decided to change my page around and
have the dates run from present to past. The present month will always
be on this page. If you would like to visit one of the previous months,

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I still can't believe it is already 1998!
Well, I have started my new year out on the right foot... one more
pound down, for a total of 8 pounds lost since 12/13 ! The scale
is moving again!!
We are all battling this terrible cold right now, but I think we keep
passing it back and forth. But at least I did have the energy to
walk my two miles today!
My resolution for the new year? Well, I am going to stay on Atkins,
with no cheating until my birthday, April 22, and I am going to try to
join a gym so that I can start some serious toning as well as aerobics
(as soon as my pocketbook gets over "Christmas shock".
Good luck to everyone attempting to "shrink" this year!!
