Official presentation of Alfa 156 in Slovenia
My personal impressions
On January 24 and 25, two companies officially representing Fiat Corporation in Slovenia, AM Cosmos and Avto Triglav, made presentation of the new Alfa 156. The companies had full house of visitors, that were eager to see how the cars look like in reality, to check details that cannot be seen on pictures, look into the luggage trunk and into the engine compartment. We could sit in the car, checking the comfort, setting of the steering wheel, ease of changing gears etc.
My overall impression of the car is favourable, I really like the design, the engine performance seem to be quite satisfactory comparing to other models of the same class. I am enraptured with the design of the rear doors latch, among thousands of models - it is unique! Very nice is also combination of old and new design concepts (like front doors latch)!
A visitor commented that in the interior there is too much plastic material, however, the top model Alfa 156 2,5 V6 fully equipped (lather etc.) was quite impressive.
But there are two things I donīt like: instruments are hard to survey as they are too deeply sunk in the dashboard. One also cannot open the windows in the rear doors completely but approximately up to two thirds at most. This impairment brought up to me allusions to some rare lower class 4-door models which also couldnīt offer to the passengers sitting behind that comfort.
The companies were kind enough to offer also test drives but enthusiasm and interest of the visitors was so huge that the queues were too long and the waiting time about 2 hours, so I decided to test the car some other day. If I do it, Iīll write a report.
