Alfa 166 is 30 cm longer and 7 cm wider than Alfa 156. It has about 10 cm longer inter-axial distance, however the trunk is as much as 110 litres greater compared to one in Alfa 156 and 30 litres greater than in series 5 BMW but 30 litres smaller than the trunk in Mercedes-Benz E. Some people were slightly disappointed about Roman originality in designing when they took a look at front end of the car, however it has flourished inside the car. Dashboard is overall similar to one in Alfa 156 but two colours and inserted wooden pieces are expressions of prestige. This car is definitely not suffering from Bavarian lack of ideas.
Customers will choose among twelve different colours. The factory-default outfit will satisfy the buyers. A part of it are also air-bags at the driver's and the passenger's side (surcharge on side air-bags), ABS with electronic braking power distribution system, automatic air conditioner, radio with trip computer, power seat for the driver, horizontally and vertically adjustable steering wheel and so on. It is quite interesting that the width of the passengers compartment across the front seats is the same as in Alfa 156. The assortment of engines is already known from other Alfa models.
