In Memory of...

Ptl. Edward M. Hennecy 11/19/1935
Patrolman Hennecy (my Great Uncle) was on duty in Florence County when his motorcycle struck the railing of a steel bridge due to frost. Passing motorist attempted to take him to the local hospital, but he died on the way. Patrolman Hennecy was a five year veteran of the Patrol and a native Georgetown County. Patrolman Hennecy also had a brother on the Patrol stationed in Spartanburg County.

Ptl. Ed Hennency - 19??-1935
Patrolman Hennecy (my Great Uncle) was
assigned to motorcycle patrol in Florence County, South Carolina.
On November 19, 1935 Ptl. Hennecy approached the Pee Dee River
Bridge where an early morning frost was present. Ptl. Hennecy's
motorcycle lost traction going down on the bridge. Ptl. Hennecy
struck his head on the bridge railing.
