On June 17, 2001,
we celebrated our first anniversary!
It has been a good year, filled with more
laughter than tears, for all this,
for our union I give thanks to the Lord.
The following poem is a celebration of our life together.

Shells and Beautiful People

Have you ever noticed my Love,
The way some enjoy life?
It might be quite different from us,
They might seem a little far.
Some walk down our road of sand
And never, ever stop to look down,
A treasure of shells smiling under the sun,
Their fair shapes, and color shades
Don't matter for them the same as for us.

You'll find the most unusual shell
Hidden between some rocks,
You'll examine it very close,
Feeling the shell's struggles, it's time,
And special forms.

And so it is,
I am like one of those shells
Many would never be able to find.
Insignificant, little shell
Wanting to give so much joy,
Wanting to love and be held.

And so there was someone like you,
Who came my way and cared enough,
Who felt my time, and felt my pains,
while caressing my smile,
Decided to stay.

I guess that make us two of the same kind,
Because we saw in each other
What others couldn't see,
And we both stop to look down our road of sand
Finding beauty where others had walked before
And did not care to find.

I'm grateful to God
He joined our hearts,
And brought our ways together as one.
Thank you my Love
For being with me,
For letting me love you, for loving me.

There are two things we both find special,
A shell by the shore,
And our love!

For my beloved Patrick,
Loving you,
Roxana
