In Review:

The defending ABL champion Columbus Quest suffered two losses before the season began when first Valerie Still, and then Katie Smith sufffered season-ending ACL injuries. Katrina McClain chose not to report to the Chicago Condors.

Despite the problems, the third season tipped-off on schedule on November 11 with the Philadelphia Rage beating the Colorado Xplosion and the Portland Power defeating the Nashville Noise.

Andrea Lloyd decided to come out of retirement to join the injury-ridden Columbus Quest. The first week's competition ended with the Quest in first place in the East and the Seattle Reign on top of the West. But the stunning news of the opening week was the report that the Quest' coach, Brian Agler, was going to leave the Quest at the end of the season to become coach and general manager of the WNBA's Minnesota expansion franchise.

Agler resigned from the Quest a week later in order to eliminate, in his words, "any potential conflict of interest that might have resulted from my continuing to coach in the ABL while having accepted a position with the WNBA."

The third week of play ended with the Quest and the Reign still on top of their respective divisions.
