It's been my dream to own a
discus when i was only 12 years old. Sadly, i wasn't able to buy
discus due to its high prices here in the philippines. But i can
still remember that i did bought some at least 3 discus, and it
died on me within a week. that was 1981. As far as my memory
serves me right. I think i was also able to have lot's of
freshwater fishes. Like, corydoras, blk tetras, goldfish,fighting
fish, angelfish. This was decades agoo...
Year 1997. October to be exact. I saw my long lost high school friend and he was breeding discus. He have a pair of blue diamonds and it has more than a 100 juvenile, around 2 inches. He also have 4 pcs of Blue snakeskin around 3-4". My friends name is Jerry. Jerry knew that when we were young that i do love tropical fish, specially discus. He tried to convinced me to buy some of his juvenile, but i declined. Thats the first time i saw him.
The second time was febuary, 1998. There i saw his discus again. We discuss some friendly topics and after that he let me borrowed his discus books. it was Discus atlas. At night I read the book from cover to cover. The next day, i surf the net and found that discus is very interesting and challenging hobby. By Feb. 14, 1998. I made a decision. I will try to breed discus. My initial plans are the ffg;
Look for a room to be used. so that the temp are controled.
