This is my third Toyota truck. My first was an 1981 SR5 SB, it had 31" BFG Mud T/A's 3" Rancho's, and inner cage. It was a great truck until I loaned it to a girlfriend of mine over new years a few years back. Yep, she wrecked it. At that point I changed my mind and wanted to get something more responsible, comfortable, and road worthy. And I bought a 1991 SB. Beautiful truck. 33's, IFS lift, and drove like a cadillac. However, the achin' for a straight axle just wouldn't go away. My dream was always an EFI straight axle (i.e. an 85) But then I came along this (carburated) 84' 4runner SR5, and it looked almost perfect inside and out, plus it had just below 80,000k original miles. It is the SR5, which I questioned at first, since it didn't have the crome package, and other items I thought were stock for the SR5. After mentioning this to the seller (lady), she showed me a large envelope with the actual original dealer brochure, and sure enough all the extras for the SR5 were itemized, and the truck was an SR5 model. It was all the things that were in the large envelope that sealed the deal including the original dealer brochures, all receipts and dealer checkups, all owners (3), original manual, a newspaper cliping, and the original window sticker! Given, this isn't the best reason to buy a car, but it was enough for me.
