As we all should know..."In the year 1999, high above Macross Island in the South
Pacific a phenomominal event occured in the skies which altered the course of human history."
This event was the crash landing of an alien battle fortress. At the time, the Earth was involved in a Global
Civil War, but with the new threat of alien invasion the people of Earth quickly refocused their energy. The best
scientists and engineers were soon sent to reconstruct and uncover the secrets of the alien battle space ship. 10 years was
spent on the reconstruction of "Super Dimensional Fortress Macross," and a small city, Macross City, grew in its shadow as well.
It was soon discovered that the aliens who once operated the ship were much bigger than humans, by over 40 feet. The Veritech fighter
was then developed so that Earth would have another weapon to fight these aliens. An inexperinced crew was assigned to the bridge of the SDF-1 under the
command of the remarkable Henry J. Gloval. Roy Fokker, a decorated fighter pilot during the Global Civil War, became the leader of the Veritech Skull Squadron.
Ten years after the SDF-1 crash lamded on Earth, and oin the day of its maiden voyage, the aliens, or
Zentradi, finally came to Earth in search of the missing battle fortress. It was soon revealed to those onboard the SDF-1 that the ship
was only a boobytrap, as it automatically fired on the alien intruders, destroying two battle ships. This where I will leave off and let you enjoy the rest on this site and Macross!
We all know that in the US, Macross was absorbed along with Super Dimensional Calvary Southern Cross and Genesis Climber Mospeada into one series, Robotech. In Japan, Macross followed a quite a different
timeline. After Super Dimensional Fortress Macross finished airing, soon after there was a theatrical
release, "Macross:Do You Remember Love?". (Released in the US as Clash of the Bionoids). Then
Macross Flashback 2012, Macross II, Macross Plus and most recently Macross 7.
