-small, slender, orphaned, feared John Reed, liked reading, stayed at Lowood Institution for eight years, two as a teacher, went to work as a governess for Mr.Rochester, had Adela Varens as a pupil, loved Mr.Rochester, jealous of Miss Ingram, a good drawer, engaged to Edward, was going to marry him but left after finding out he had a wife, lost her money and goods, had to resort to begging, found assylum in the RIvers's home, tought poor village children, inhereted 20,000 pounds from her uncle, discovered she was Mary's, Diana's, and John's cousin, decided to split up her inheritance into 4 equal parts, wanted St.John to marry Rosemond, refused to go to India as his wife, seeked out Mr.Rochester and married him, had a boy

Mrs.Reed

-Jane's aunt, disliked Jane, widowed, spoiled her children, died

Bessie Lee

-nurse at the Reed's home, loved Jane, married Robert Leaven (coachman), had a boy named Bobby and a girl named Jane

Eliza Reed

-headstrong, selfish, became a nun

John Reed

-large, stout, hated and bullied Jane, liked to spend money, worried Mrs.Reed, ruined his life and estate, went into debt and jail, died

Georgiana Reed

-had a nasty temper, spiteful, beautiful, pink cheeks, golden curls, blue eyes, was going to run away with a young lord but stopped by Eliza, married a rich man

Miss Abbot

-servant of the family, always took sides against Jane

Mr.Lloyd

-cared for Jane when she fainted, suggested that she go to school

-treasurer and manager of Lowood
