How Could Anyone Look at this Face and NOT Want to Give It a Prestigious Award? (or a Golden Globe at least?!) God only knows, but for some reason it happened. First, Brendan was shamelessly snubbed by the Hollywood Foreign Press and failed to garner a nomination for his well-praised performance as Clay Boone in Gods and Monsters. Ian McKellen received his best actor nomination, the movie itself got a Best Film nod, and Lynn Redgrave actually won for Best Supporting Actress (AND she went out of her way to thank Brendan, even stepping so far as to call him "a beautiful monster"). But did anyone bother to give Brendan the recognition he so rightfully deserves? No! They had him present an award with Jamie Lee Curtis (which, judging from the expression on his face as he presented, filled him with as much glee as a nomination would have, so if he's not complaining, why should I?). Last year he presented with a sour Minnie Driver, so at least he improved on that.

Then, Oscar nominations were released, and once again, Brendan's name was conspicuous by its absence. McKellen and Redgrave both returned to the award race, and Gods and Monsters came away with a Best Adapted Screenplay nomination, but what about Brendan?
