The only long term side effect I have as a result of such a agressive treatement is I have deteration of my hips from the high dose steroid use! It has been a little over a year Since I have been on Crutches from trying to buy some time on my left hip.Eventually both hips will need to be replaced.
I continue to do the 24 hour UA's and take the Plaquinelle and the Imuran and the occational rounds of Prednisone when activity warrents it! I have even been given the AOK to have an occational alcoholic drink!!
I March of 2001, I had an allergic reaction to a medication that I was put on for stomache problems, that allergic reaction created an asthmatic reaction. I was hospitalized for a week to recover from that one!! Since that occurance and since stopping that medication I have not had continued problems with Asthma!
I will continue to update this page as Living with Lupus warrants! Since it is an ever changing disease No telling what is going to fill the next chapter of my life!!!
What I can say is that no matter what happens or what falls apart I will continue to keep my head held high and fight this disease until I have beat it!!!!
