Personal Information
I started modeling when I was about eight years old. I built free flight, control line, and several radio controlled models using escapements and reeds (you old timers will remember these!). On my twelfth birthday my Father bought me my first decent R/C plane. It was called "Snoopey", thats right, no typo....It was a German kit. I powered it with an OS Max H35 and guided it with my first decent proportional radio, an EK Logictrol 3 channel. That was 1966....

Today I am mainly into R/C gliders of any kind, as you can tell from the website. I still fly power, mostly because of my 12 year old son Marc, who is a very accomplished pilot of both power and gliders. In all honesty I have to admit I still enjoy powered flight as well!!

We live and fly in Montreal, Quebec Canada, and as I work for an airline as a Maintenance Controller, we do a lot of travelling as well. In fact lately we travel to go flying!! Have done some great sloping in California over the last two years....lots of fun

Aviation is in my blood and over the years I have worked on everything from Piper J-3's to Boeing 747-400's. I love them all! Currently I manage a Fleet of Airbus aircraft, A319/320/330/ and 340's, 84 in all. Needless to say they keep my quite busy!!

As of November 2003 I have retired from the airline business. I have moved into one of my other passions, the motorcycle industry. I am now running a carbon fiber business, Robert Nelson MX Inc. We are on the web, have a look at
NelsonMX.com. As an aside I am also the Service Manager for a Honda Motorcycle dealer in Montreal. All in all it has been a good change for me and my family. Of course, I still build and fly model aircraft as well!!!
Here is my son Marc. This picture was taken about 5 years ago. He was learning to fly on a plane called "Snoopey" I built and flew it about 35 years ago!!!! We still have her, but she has been retired with honors! What a great plane she has been!
Wonderin what the heck this thing is?? It's a jet engine. Looks to be a JT8D from a DC9 or a B737............Just put it here as a conversation piece...........
