Hand Launch Gliders
I have always had a fascination with small gliders. Today, largely in part to the small radio equipment available, the Micro Hand Launch has become quite popular. They are very light weight, the one shown here of my own design is less than 4 ounces ready to fly!! It spans 29.25 inches.....
This model is basically all composite construction. The wings are blue extruded foam, glass, and carbon fibre. Fuselage is glass and carbon fibre with a carbon spar for the tail boom. Tail feathers are 1/16" balsa covered with glass and stiffned with carbon tow. The radio used is a Hitec 555 Rx, two Hitec HS 50 servos, and either a 50 mah or 110 mah battery pack.
Here is my son Marc, shooting a landing with a "Terminator". It is a 60 inch span all composite HLG that I have been building for the last three years. They are still competitive, but I have a new Full House design in the works to replace my trusty Terminators.....
Have a look at my latest SAL Handlaunch gliders..........
