| One of my favorite activities is backpacking and camping. If you have any suggestions on great sights, e-mail me. If you know anything about camping. The number one rule is leave no impact that you have been there. Completely put out your fire and remove the traces that it was ever there. This may take a long time, but the next person after you will greatly appreciate it. It just might be me. All the trash you have generated must be packed back out. it's not as hard as it seems. I carry a couple of grocery bags with me and hang them on my pack when leaving. Almost all trail heads have garbage cans for disposal. I've picked up a few cans and other things that people have left. You can do the same. Stay on the trail. I can't emphasise this enough. So what if there is mud in the middle of the path. How are the rest of us supposed to know that you really went hiking if there is NO dirt on your boots? If you skirt the puddles, you will make the path larger. No, that is not a good thing. Hey, it's beautiful out there. No phones, no tv, no computers, no cars, no electric stoves, no traffic, (unless it's a popular site). We just want to keep it that way. |
