Saccharin Pickles
| 2 teaspoons salt |
¼ teaspoon saccharin |
| small pickles |
Alum, the size of a hazelnut |
| 1 teaspoon mixed spices |
vinegar and water mixed |
Put 1
teaspoon of salt in the bottom of a 1 litre ( 1 quart ) jar. Fill half full with small
pickles. Add ¼ teaspoon of saccharin then fill up with pickles. Add 1 teaspoon of salt
and 1 teaspoon of mixed spices, then the small piece of Alum. Fill the jar with ½
cider vinegar and ½ water. Seal.
