We're a community.
We come from different backgrounds. We have different opinions on God.
Some of us are religious, some aren't. Some are spiritual, some aren't.
We believe in being together. When we connect with each other, we transcend ourselves. We become better people. We create a better world.
We are followers of Jesus.
We study the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. We have different opinions on who he was and what he means to us. We freely debate and discuss these ideas. It is our hope that everyone might experience Jesus as a living presence, a risen Christ, who transforms our lives. We believe it is the best way to connect with God.
We are a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in Canada
Parkland First Presbyterian Church began as a Bible Study group in the mid-1990's and officially became a congregation in 1997. We worshipped in Stony Plain and called our first minister in 2005. We now meet at the Pioneer Centre, beside the Spruce Grove City Hall. We are largely a group of young families and retired seniors. We value hospitality. We care deeply about the communities of Spruce Grove and Stony Plain, Alberta. We place an emphasis on education. And most of all, we love to eat together.
