Nail Care Tips

  • Remember, your nails are not tools.
  • Always use cotton lined rubber gloves, when working with chemicals or water.
  • Gardening--Scratch your nails across a bar of soap to create a coat on the underside of your nails. When gardening is done, use a nailbrush to remove soap and dirt. Gardening gloves are most helpful when pulling weeds and working in garden.
  • Tanning and swimming in chlorine pools will discolor your French manicure.
  • Apply cuticle oil daily to prevent hangnails and to keep cuticles moist.
  • Be very careful. Moisture trapped between your natural nail and artificial nail may cause mold--The green finger nail.
  • Do not cut cuticles, but do trim hangnails.
  • If you decide to glue to reseal a lift, make sure the nail is sanitized and DRY.
  • Split or breaking nails- apply nail glue to the split, let dry, then buff with fine block buffer.
  • To help prevent your polish from chipping, make sure nails are free of oils before polishing (use non acetone polish remover).
  • Keep them short with a square shape to lessen the chance of breakage during activities.
  • Use sunscreen on your hands. The skin is delicate and ages rapidly.
