AG's Ramblings

WHAT'S UP?
It's Gang Show year in Auckland. I will be ushering for it come August, it's always a fun show.
I'm still recovering from Regional Camp at Easter and an ANZAC day overnight with my Guides, both of which were a lot of fun.
WHO AM I?
I'm the one with more brains than sense who decided to start this Ranger unit :-) As well as being a Leader at Manaia Tai I take Ariki Guides in Epsom. I've been a Leader since 1994 and before that I was a Ranger, Guide and Brownie. I was a New Zealand Wandering Lone Brownie when we lived overseas in Belize. I gained my Chief Commissioners Award as a Guide and my Queens Guide as a Ranger. I had some really wonderful Leaders all through Guiding who gave me great opportunities that I would never have had elsewhere. Being able to give some of that back is one of the things I enjoy most about being a leader. (Acting like a kid is one of the others). I love the outdoor aspects of Guiding, I camp a lot and am a member of Auckland Regions outdoor team and help at the Guide Boat Centre where we have Rangers.

Some of the things I've done through Guiding:
Horowhenua Guide Jamboree
Porepunka Guide Jamboree in Australia
ORBIT Ranger Event
Great Barrier Tramp for Queen's Guide
MOA Ranger Event
Adventure 98
YAP Youth Event
Outside Guiding (there's an outside?) I work in a university medical library, I'm into film festivals, I'm an omnivorous reader and am active online. I'm 26 years old.
