Most children do not lie about abuse as it's just not possible without coaching. A child
just cannot bring up a wild tale of abuse out of the blue. When a child approaches someone
they trust, or believe they can trust with an accusation of abuse, it needs to be taken
completely seriously. A complete and full investigation should be done, as well as the
child being removed from the home during the entire process. Additionally, the child
shall be located into a safe haven and offered as much help and support as can possibly
be. More needs to be done. Many more resources need to be made available. Apathy is not
needed here. Compassion, support, love, and comfort are absolutely necessary.
If you are interested in helping me change the way children are treated when they report
child abuse, to include providing safe havens country-wide, as well as helping me start
nationwide programs to counsel adults of the repurcussions to children who are abused,
please email me. It takes just one person to start a campaign, but it takes a great many
people to fund and work the campaigns. I hope that very soon, I will have the necessary
funds to do this full time, but being a single parent, I have to be realistic, and
keep my full time job. This takes away from my time to work on this important task, but so
be it. I wish people would help out in ways like this, instead of giving to those sites on
the net where people beg for money for their own personal gain. It just reinforces in me
all the more that awareness of child abuse needs to be spread!
About Me-
I'm a single parent of two children, a boy and a girl. I'm a survivor of physical,
and sexual abuse, as well as emotional torture and torment. I was given up by my birth
parents, and went through three foster homes before being placed with a single, lesbian
woman in 1980, by the State of New York, Westchester County. Although I experienced abuse
in two of those placements, the one abuser who did the most damage to me was Kathy
Walters, of Nyack, NY. Yes, I'm naming her publicly to hopefully expose her for the child molester that she is. Just weeks after I was placed with her, she sexually molested me. I
had no say when it came time for her to adopt me. Throughout the years, the physical and
emotional abuse got much worse, to the point of me attempting suicide numerous times
because when I tried to get help, the NY CPS workers believed Kathy's lies and never
removed me from her home. After I reported her, the abuse became unbearable. Finally,
being that my will to survive was stronger than my will to kill myself, I just left.
I spent many years just lost. I was angry, bitter, violent. My first marriage failed
miserably. I no longer have contact with my two oldest children due to my own issues. I
miss them horribly. Maybe one day, they will understand why what I did was for them, and
not me. That's another story, though.
I'm driven now. I'm driven not only to survive, but also to enable others to survive. I'm very determined to not allow abusers to continue to rob lives from those they abuse. Victims don't ask for their abusers to do what they do, but in time, they end up feeling helpless to stop them, so they become resigned to their abuse. Later, if they finally do escape alive, they are clueless as to how to take care of themselves, because they have come from a controlling environment to one of freedom. That needs to be addressed, as well as programs to help those in that type of situation need to be readily and widely available.
I hope I've
succeeded in making you think. I hope anyone who reads this has been touched to the point
of wanting to help. If you are an abuser, you need to seriously rethink your actions. If
you are being abused, you need to stay strong, and know that you are important, that you
count, and you deserve to be heard! Working together, we can all help each other, and help
others to stop child abuse.
I'm going to make a difference. I'm going to be that person who should have been there when I needed them, but wasn't. I hope you will choose to help!
