Safety

1.  Conduct a safety inspection of your barn/shelter, pasture, and fencing.   
Report any dangers and make a plan to correct them.    
2.  Conduct a safety inspection of your truck and trailer.     

Selecting & Judging

3.  Explain five qualities you should look for in a breeding female or male. 
4.  Why is it important to understand conformation before breeding any llama? 
5.  Talk to a llama rescue agency and find out why there are llamas that need rescuing.  
What can you do to help with this situation?     

Handling

6.  Demonstrate and describe show ring procedures, safety and etiquette 
7.  Have your llama cush on command.     
8.  Demonstrate how to safely load your llama into a trailer and prepare for traveling.

Feeds & Feeding

9.  Describe the digestive system of a llama.     
10.  Identify and describe at least 3 types of hay commonly available in your area. 
Tell why each would/would not be a good feed for llamas.   

Health

11.  Describe the following clostridial diseases, including their symptoms, causes,
and methods of prevention and control:  Tetanus, Enterotoxemia, Malignant Edema,
and Blackleg.        
12.  Demonstrate how to take your llama’s temperature, pulse, and respiration. 
13.  Using a microscope, examine a fecal sample for parasites.
