[This is copied verbatim... well, a piece of paper I found in a box in my room...]
Angels rise from earth to seek a better home
The waters are never warm anymore in my land. Perhaps somewhere far off in the horizon there's a distant tropic waiting to be explored, but I searchd for sixty days to no avail. Besides, as far as I know, we used to be that distant tropic. What used to be lush jungle and warm springs has been condensed into a stone isle smaller than even one acre, and the ruins of a once great castle, swept away by the icy waters that now surround as far as the eye can see.
It was I who destroyed it, for I can place no blame on anyone else. I suppose I did not learn soon enough that this place was unlike that which I had come from, and that is where I must begin, if I am to tell this tale of age old evils and magic...
I am unsure when it happened. One moment I was looking at a computer screen, and the next, a broad horizon that stretched on for miles, disintegrating where the sea met the sky.
[I know that's not the whole dream... let me go look for the rest...]
Time has worn away and trees are growing tired
Passion feeds the heart's fire, but it grows dim at night
Nowhere close are friends who flew long ago
Seeking love and shelter away in the arms of stars
Water cools the passion in your tears, cry no more
Think not of cold tomorrows, but dim warmths of yesterday
See the eagle fly away across the seas
Loneliness sets in like fog upon the breeze
Where has all you love gone? Far into the past
Angels: Rise up now and seek a better home.
My world was bitter and cold as well, but for a different reason. Hate and rage reigned supreme in a time when I wished only for love and acceptance. It was this age when technology took the place of friendly faces and happy customers, that I sought to get away from. So, the only way I knew how, I turned to my imagination. Creating what I found to be such marvelous echo systems, I pulled them together.
