Finally, some news about the upcoming album: "Audioslave guitarist Tom Morello has revealed to Kerrang! that the band have nearly completed their 'awesome' second album. The band's as-yet-untitled follow-up to 2002's self titled debut, which is due for release next year, is being produced by Rick Rubin."

In other news, the Axis of Justice: Concert Series Volume I has been in stores for a while now. It was recorded at the Avalon in Los Angeles and was one in a series of benefits for Axis of Justice, the non-profit organization founded by Tom and Serj from SoaD in an effort to bring concerned musicians, fans of music and grassroots political organizations to fight for social justice. Features several special guests including Chris Cornell.

A couple tidbits of news about Tom Morello..."Songs And Artists That Inspired Fahrenheit 9/11", the soundtrack of the hit documentary by Michael Moore features "No One Left" by the Nightwatchman, otherwise known as Mr. Tom. The CD hit stores on October 5th, so see the movie, grab the CD, and vote!!!

As you may notice, I'm expanding the site, redesigning a few things, and trying to get some P.R. for the site in time for winter.

October 14, 2004

Yep, this site is not dead yet. There has been very little news about Audioslave over the summer, except the fact that the band is (was) working on their still untitled second album. Once news picks up soon, I will begin updating daily! Also, I still plan on expanding the website even though I have a full time schedule with school, as I see that every other Audioslave sucks! So spread the word and make Slaves of Music the best damn Audioslave site period! (FSN, don't sue me).

Wow, it has been a while! I'm back from school and ready to update and upgrade in time for the announcement... Audioslave is going into the studio to record their second album very soon. Interscope Records will be releasing this next album, as part of the deal with Epic Records (Epic owns Chris's contract and Interscope owns Rage's contract, so the two labels agreed to switch off releasing Audioslave albums.)

Here is an MTV snippet of Audioslave in the studio with Rick Rubin from last month: Chris Cornell and the former members of Rage Against the Machine are also still in the writing phase, and although Rubin hasn't heard much, he has high expectations for the band's second album. "I get [two-way] pages from the guys on a pretty regular basis after rehearsal and they're like, 'We were good at work today, you're gonna be so excited,' so that's nice," Rubin said. "What's exciting to me about this album is, they weren't really a band when we made the last album. They had never done one show. And now they've done a lot of touring and they've really become a band. They're so much more comfortable with each other now; they got along fine before, but it was so new. The potential is off the map. I think the last album is good, but I think we could do better than that."

March 14, 2004

As many of you may already know, there will be the first in a series of concerts for the Axis of Justice on March 31, 2004 at the Troubadour in Hollywood, CA. The concert will feature accoustic performances by The Nightwatchman (Tom Morello), Serj Tankian of System of a Down, Wayne Kramer, Boots Riley of the Coup, and special guests! Tickets have already gone on sale, so hurry up and grab them!

February 12, 2004

It has been a while! Anyway, Audioslave recently went 0 for 2 at the Grammys award show on the 8th. Unfortunately, Evanescence won the award for Best Rock Record and Foo Fighters won the award Best Hard Rock Song with "One by One." Personally, I think Like a Stone kicks both those bands asses, but that's just me. So stay tuned as more good things are to come!

January 2, 2004

Happy new year, everyone! Well no real news again with Audioslave except the fact that "Audioslave" is again rising the charts thanks to the success of the "I Am The Highway" as a single. More news on this site however... All of the photos pages and the FAQ have been updated, my review of "Audioslave" and my hate list has been added to the Slave Wire page, and a new banner design and sub-banner design for the front page is coming soon.

December 13, 2003

Congrats again to Audioslave on taking home not one, but two, Billboard Music Awards earlier this week. The band won both "Rock Artist of the Year" and "Modern Rock Artist of the Year". Go Audioslave!!!

December 7, 2003

Audioslave's Radio Takeover (ART) took place today on many radio stations across the country. Hosted by Tenacious D's Kyle Gass, Audioslave and Hoobastank performed for an hour each. During Audioslave's time, they performed six songs, including "Show Me How to Live", with Chris Cornell also performing two acoustic tunes, "Like a Stone". AOL will be broadcasting this event in the next weeks. Check back here to find out when!

Congratulations to Audioslave on their 2004 Grammy nominations, Best Hard Rock Performance for "Like A Stone", and Best Rock Album for "Audioslave". The 46th Annual Grammy Awards will held on Sunday, February 8, 2004 live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA. Good luck to the band!

Another award show is coming in just a couple days! The 2003 Billboard Music Awards Show will be on FOX on December 10 starting at 10 P.M. EST. Audioslave will appear and are finalists in two categories: Best Rock Artist and Best Modern Rock Artist. Cheers!!!

December 3, 2003

Well, another update has finally arrived in wake of the recent news that Audioslave's debut album has now gone double platinum. The RIAA has just recently confirmed that the album has sold two million copies and amazingly still on the Billboard 200 over a year after its release.

The "Tell us the Truth" tour has finally reached its conclusion this time around. Here's a review from shows in Madison, Wisconsin and Asheville, North Carolina - Badger Herald PhreshWater.

Now that I'll have time coming up to work on the site soon, look out for many new improvements and additions in the days ahead. And as always, set that f*cker off!

October 15, 2003

As you may or may not know, Audioslave guitarist Tom Morello is uniting with fellow peers Billy Bragg, Steve Earle and others for the "Tell us the Truth" tour. The website tellusthetruth.org is still under construction but you can find tour dates for the tour via Pollstar here. Also, "Like a Stone" has been nominated for Song of the Year/Rock Radio for the 2003 Radio Music Awards which will be aired on NBC on October 27 at 9 p.m. Eastern.

October 7, 2003

News is really really slow on the Audioslave front, so I decided to work on the site a little more. The results? New pages. Both an F.A.Q. and a Timeline page have been added to the page, and you can access these pages on the navigation toolbar on the right. More new stuff is on the way, so until next time, ta ta.

September 16, 2003

Word on the street is that the awesome ballad "I Am The Highway" will be the newest single off Audioslave's almost double-platinum selling self-titled debut. I heard the song personally on two major Chicago radio stations so I have a feeling that is for real. Also, the Search buttons on the right side of this page were acting up, so I reduced it to a single link until FreeFind fixes that up. Enjoy!

September 10, 2003

The news is a little slow for Audioslave now that Lollapalooza is finished. The website has gotten some recent additions and new improvements are on their way. When any news comes out, I will let you (the visitor) now.

August 21, 2003

Lollapalooza might be going to Europe, says Perry Farrell of Jane's Addiction. More information in the NME article here.

This is the first update for Slaves of Music. In the meantime, I am requesting a number of websites to link this site in order to attract visitors to this site. So stay tuned and hang on for the ride!
