What We Have Been Up To

School Year 2001-2002 (Fourth Grade)

Welcome to our newest member, Kaylie. We also want to say a sad farewell to Katie B who we will miss.

We went on another Bike Hike on the Caty Trail (a new part of it.) Boy was the ride beautiful!

We earned a Drawing and Painting patch. That's our first official patch as JUNIOR Girl Scouts. Yeah!!

We went on an All-School Christmas Carol! It was lots of fun, we each got a Santa hat and patch and we collected lots of food for our local pantry.

We had lots of fun at the Magic House's scouting day. We earned the Visual Arts patch and worked on bits and pieces of some other patches. That huge slide is a blast! Thanx to all the parents who went and had lots of fun with us.

An older Girl Scout troop organized an all-school fashion show for us. What fun! We wore clothes that represented countries from all around the world, holidays, and time periods. We all looked lovely! Then we did karaoke. Look out Hollywood, here we come!
We learned all about pets and pet care. And we earned a new badge in the process. We're really cruizin' now.

School Year 2000-2001 (Third Grade)

Believe it or not, we have a couple of new girls this year also. Our troop is getting REALLY big!  We starred in plays that we wrote and directed ourselves.  We sold candies, nuts, etc. for the Fall Fundraiser.  We dressed dolls in theme outfits and donated them to a local toy drive. The themes chosen by our four patrols were: Cowgirl, Soccer player, Cheerleader and Summer Fun.

We molded heart boxes out of plaster of paris and painted them.  We learned all about electricity thanx to Bob M.  We had a cookie exchange with the 6th grade Girl Scouts. It was loads of fun!  We planted bulbs around the school so that this spring there will be lots of beautiful flowers to enjoy.  We sold Girl Scout cookies and raised a lot of money for our troop activities and meetings. A HUGE thank you to everyone who helped (including our parents!)  We went on a bicycle hike on the Caty Trail. It was loads of fun! Thanks to all the chaperones who made the time safe and fun for everyone!

School Year 1999-2000 (Second Grade)

We have MORE new girls this year. Our troop is getting REALLY big!  We sold candies, nuts, etc. for the Fall Fundraiser.  We painted pumpkins! Messy but fun!  We attended the All-School Girl Scout Troop Hoedown. We learned some dances, milked  some "cows" and rode some "horses". It was loads of fun!

We participated in the Girl Scout Cookie Sale. This year we were pros at it.  We delivered and picked-up "April Shower" bags to a really large neighborhood. Afterwards, we ate lunch at McDonald's/KFC and played. Thanx Patty!

We attended the All-School Girl Scout Troop Pajama Party. We got facials, made pillow cases, danced, played games, snacked and got to know the older and younger Girl Scouts. These parties are neat.

We had an Easter egg hunt and learned all about our five senses.  We had an End Of the Year Party at a park and earned the Outdoor Fun Try-It. We learned about hearing, seeing, feeling, and smelling nature and marking trails. We also ate hot dogs, chips and this wonderful cake made JUST FOR US! We also got a little (lot!) wet in a water gun fight. What a way to end the year!

We earned more Brownie Try-Its. And we learned the Girl Scout Promise and Law!
We had a fun summer get-together! We had a tea party with dress-up clothes, little sandwiches, nail polish, pictures and crafts. At the end of the party, we paraded through the Tea Parlor for our moms and the other customers. It was loads of fun.

School Year 1998-1999 (First Grade)

We have several new girls this year from our school. More new friends!  We sold candies, nuts, etc. for the Fall Fundraiser.  We participated in the Girl Scout Cookie Sale this year. It's lots of fun, but lots of work!  We went to the river to watch the eagles flying around looking for food. This area has so many wonderful nature sites to see!  We got to deliver and pick-up "April Shower" bags of our own this year.  We colored wonderful Easter eggs and donated them to a soup kitchen for pre-Easter decorations and egg salad on Easter day.  We got to go to camp! It was only for the day, but we cooked hot dogs, stew and s'mores. We can't wait till we're old enough to stay overnight.  We earned quite a few Brownie Try-Its. It's lots of fun!

School Year 1997-1998 (Kindergarten-As Daisy Girl Scouts)

We got to know other girls from our school and become friends.  We learned about what Girl Scouts stand for and believe.  We made beautiful Valentine cards for the elderly in a nursing home.  We helped a Jr. Girl Scout troop from our school deliver and pick-up "April Shower" bags.  We colored wonderful Easter eggs and donated them to a soup kitchen for pre-Easter decorations and egg salad on Easter day.  We pre-earned a Brownie Try-It for Fun.  We went on a nature hike and saw a neat conservation/learning center.
