For the next few months Teresa will be traveling around Australia visiting
with several different guide units. She will come home for a visit and
around November and then start traveling again. Teresa is still with
her first host in Australia. We miss Teresa terribly. She has
never left her first host in Australia, she has been there for over a year
now. Hope she decides to return home soon.
Happy Hopper:
Happy is a very pretty beanie frog. She has been traveling since
February of 99. So far she has visited with:
Cadette-Senior
Troop #255 Galion, Ohio
Troop

Happy Hopper left the USA in July and has not reached her host in Australia
yet. Happy Hopper returned home safely, but unfortunately never got
to visit Australia.
Zoe and
Chocolate Chip:
Zoe is
an All American Girl Scout Bear beanie and Chocolate Chip is a Make New
Friends beanie monkey. Both are new to mascoting. Their only
visit so far has been to Listowel, Ontario, Canada. During their
visit they traveled to CM 99. Zoe and Chocolate Chip returned home
today 10/4/99. They had some very exciting times while they were
in Canada. They visited Hutterite Colony and Mennonite village, Spirit
Sands, Winnipeg Financial District and the Assiniboine Zoo. On Wednesday
of the CM99 trip they got to participate in personal growth activities.
In the evenings there were activities such as leather works, campfires,
crafts and a gigantic birthday party. On Thursday they were evacuated
due to a tornado touching down about 2 km from the camp. This caused
a lot of flooding and some damage to some of the tents. Zoe and Chocolate
Chip got to see how important the sisterhood of Guiding/Scouting is.
They had a great trip and came home with new camp hats, pins and patches.
We would like to thank Elaine Doig for hosting them and showing them such
a wonderful time.
Milk Chocolate
and Girl Scout Dog:
Milk Chocolate is an Amahami horse beanie critter. Girl Scout Dog
is the green dog beanie that says I love Junior Girl Scouts. Both
of these mascots belong to my daughter not the troop. They have only
traveled to Indiana to visit with two leaders and attend Chillin on the
Wabash. They both had a great time on their visits and brought home
wonderful swaps and lots of information. They will share this with
our troop.
Due to unfortunate problems with our mascots they didn't travel much this year. We hope to set up a schedule for the upcoming year. We are looking forward to our mascots spending time with other troops and units and bringing back lots of information.
If you are interested in hosting any of our mascots please E-mail us for
available dates.
