Welcome to HeatherWynd Farm Egyptian Arabian horses. Enjoy your visit and don't forget to sign our guestbook before you leave. We continually add pictures and information. We have dedicated a page to our former stallion BASKWYDION (Gwydion by *Bask X Daloette by Dalul) now deceased. One of his sons, Ibn Baskwydion+/, was was 1999 Canadian National Champion Trail Open and 1999 Canadian National Reserve Champion AOTR. Ibn Baskwydion+/ was also named 2000 Canadian National Champion Trail Horse in both the AOTR and Open classes. Along with numerous Top National wins.
Drakkar is a Straight Egyptian Dalul son purchased from Dr. John Coles of Stonebridge Farms in Canada as a yearling. Drakkar's sire DALUL, (*Morafic X *Dawlat) was a U.S. National Futurity Champion, twice U.S. National Top 10 Halter Stallion, and Canadian Top 10 Halter Champion Stallion. Now deceased, he was featured in the Arabian Horse World as a "Sire of Significance." He was and still is one of the leading sires of U.S. National Futurity Winners.
Drakkar's dam a Kuhaylan mare, Cedardell Tiffany (Serenity Menkaure X *Serenity Bint Nadia) is *Khofo and Sameh breeding. Serenity Farms were the importers of the U.S. National Champion Halter Mare *Serenity Sonbolah, a Sameh daughter. The first Straight Egyptian mare to win this title.
We feel fortunate to have acquired Drakkar when we did, because today it would be impossible. At 20 years of age Drakkar is the only living horse in his PEDIGREE. There are less than 20 stallions of the rare Kuhaylan strain in the United States, of which only 8 have produced on. Drakkar is Al Khamsa
and one of the few Straight Egyptian Dalul sons producing today. We like the idea of having a unique horse with a unique rare old pedigree. This bold flaxen chestnut stands 15.2+ and is the image of his illustrious sire. He has a bold moving, ground covering trot, with hocks tucked well under him. His performance career was cut short due to an injury. He has Blue Ribbons in Halter, Classic Head, Most Classic, Get of Sire and wins in English Pleasure. He is ever so much the classic Straight Egyptian horse he was bred to be. His foals have proven him to be an extremely prepotent sire. Some already winning the blues and championships in Halter, Classic Head, Get of Sire and Performance. His foals have size with refinement, outstanding dispositions with extreme intelligence, super action and most of all Classic Egyptian Arabian type. Drakkar's book is closed to the outside.

As a 2-year-old She was only shown 3 times in Halter winning a 3rd, 2nd and 1st in the Northern California Egyptian Breeders Futurity. August, 2000 in her first show of the year she took a first and Reserve Champion Halter Mare. Then she was shown at the NCEB Egyptian Nile Classic, where she was first in Halter and Champion Halter Mare. In 2002 she produced us a lovely liver chestnut filly by the stallion Humon Rha Sheed. Dioneeta was foaled on May 7, 1975. Being shown to Champion Mare by Lela Bond. We have owned Dee Dee since she was 5 months old. Her sire is Champion Dionysos (Ferdine X Fernitah) Her dam is Hy-Neeta (Sur-Neet X Hyka) Sur-Neet is the only
horse to ever become US National Champion Western Pleasure, US National Champion English Pleasure and US National Top 10 Halter Stallion in the same year. And his sire Sureyn was the FIRST Arabian to produce both the US National Champion Mare and Stallion in the same year.
Dioneeta herself is a Class A Halter Champion Mare and Performance winner. She has produced 10 foals of which 3 are Champions. She is owned by us, and loves teaching the kids how to ride. At 33-years-old in 2008 she is enjoying her retirement.

Anna, except for win shots, has taken all horse photos. Lela was for 12 years a AHSA/IAHA Licensed Arabian Horse Judge, and occasionaly judges for small events.
