Don't Be Alarmed At What You See
You yourself are just the same as what you see in me. Me? Like you? Hey there. It's only me. Somehow you've managed to stumble upon the likes of an oddly
strange sort of person, Mr. David M. Taylor. This is me and this is my
homepage. If you came here to see lots of pictures of me, find pictures of me here. You can also take a look at my guestbook, however, unfortunately, it seems that the entry page is goofed up, so I'll have to see how I can get that fixed. Oh well. I'll work on it some other time...
Let's start right out with some fun stuff.
The following are several links to many, many entertaining places. Also,
I'll briefly mention that there are a few secret links to check out on these pages. Sort of like a scavenger hunt, but there's no physical reward. Just more like 'Oooh, hey Stella, lookie what I found!'
One of the most important things to me in the
world is MUSIC!!! Click here for lots of links and
pics of my favorite bands. Or find out what the heck I listen to (although it's a little outdated now). One of my favorite bands is Genesis! Click
here for my Genesis page. I love Marillion too, but I haven't made a page for them (yet).
Hey, I love music so much, here's a shameless plug for my college fraternity, Mu
Beta Psi, National Honorary Musical Fraternity. This co-ed service fraternity does lots of cool stuff for musical organizations, and promotes fellowship among all musicians everywhere. Have lots of fun together, too. Check it out, and consider starting up a chapter at your college!
My latest and greatest hobby is homebrewing. Sooner or later I'll try to get my recipes on here. It's really good stuff! A few of my recipes are on the BeerTools website. They have a decent site with a beer recipe calculator and lots of other beer info. Soon I'll add my other favorite beer links. Stay tuned!
I dig cool
'70s and '80s stuff like Shaggy
and Scoob, Woodsy Owl,
and just plain
cheese in general. I'm a sucker for totally cheesy movies, too... Anything
from 1983 to 1985 or so. I like Short Circuit and Karate Kid and Top Secret
and Back to the Future even though I've seen them all like 1000 times...
My favorite movie is Real
Genius with Val Kilmer and that Dickless guy from Ghostbusters. Speaking
of cheese, I live in Two Rivers, Wisconsin, right on Lake Michigan, here in marvelous Cheeseland. And no, I am not a Packer fan. I feel that sports, while fun on occasion, are mostly for jocks and brainless burnouts, and are mostly a waste of time. I enjoy the Discovery Channel and PBS, and if you don't agree then buzz off. :P
I'm looking for a good hard laugh, I head on over to the T.W.I.N.K.I.E.S.
Project. They totally mutilated the poor things. It literally makes
me cry!! This is one science project you're guanteed to get something out
of. Like burnt creamy filling.
I've got this thing for Pooh
and Piglet and all their little buddies, and also the Peanuts,
especially Linus. He's so wise and philosophical and down-to-earth, and
so innocent. Linus just plain rules! I wanna be just like him when I grow
up, or get a brain or whatever.
Here's some little tidbits if yer interested in anything
about me at all:
I'm 28, handsome, reasonably wealthy, not very humble, and no longer single. I got married!!! I thought it would never happen. I am so picky!! And I can be a real jerk. But mostly I'm pretty nice. Yeah, right... just ask my wife... :)
I graduated in 1997 with a degree in Chemical
Engineering from Michigan
Technological University. College was the greatest experience that I shall ever have throughout my entire life. I found myself there. I will never be the same again. Sometimes I wish I could go back to the old me, but it will not happen.
So yeah, now I work at the Point Beach
Nuclear Plant in Two Rivers as a project engineer. Sounds impressive, I know, but believe me, I'm as dumb as I look. I've been here for almost 5 years now (yikes!!!) Most of my brain cells have been fried and mutated by stray neutrons and alcohol. :P
I love to play guitar,
though I'm not real good at it, all I do is play power chords... I've got a real cheap beginner's
guitar that's going to hell. But I do have more than a few songs I can play. If you've got RealPlayer, here's one of my favorites: Clean Boots/Muddy Socks. I'll warn you, it's pretty raw---right out of one of my own personal jam sessions. I got the
guitar many years ago. In that time, I've written nearly 20 songs, but only a couple with lyrics. I'd be a great lyricist, but I don't usually have the patience to sit down and make things rhyme or full of meaning. I'm more into feelings and grooves and experiences than words.
I'm a philosopher of sorts, or at least I usually make a great effort to sound profound. Other than what I haven't yet said in the above, here are my greatest pieces of advice: don't think, don't worry, accept the good and the bad, for all will balance out, but hey, stay awake!; go with the flow, hakuna matata, but keep your morals about you; and most importantly, if you really want something to happen, you have to not expect it to happen, i.e. don't give a shit. The best things in life always seem to arrive by surprise, but with a little help. Ya gotta make things happen, but don't bust your ass. And when in doubt, moderation is the key. Disclaimer: These are merely the thoughts and opinions
of myself and of Timon and Pumbaa, so don't sue me if I'm wrong.
Well, that's all for now. I really need to update the website BADLY. I'll get around to it eventually. Thanks for visiting! Come back again sometime!
