| The Valley by Cadi Nobles |
| When life closes in, I'm tempted to say: "What are the valleys good for anyway? Why can't life be sunshine and never the rain? Why can't we enjoy pleasure without all the pain? Why do we live, it seems only to die? Why bother to laugh, when we'll soon have to cry? Why does God put us 'out on a limb'?" The answer comes softly, "To bring us to Him!" Sometimes we enjoy sunshine a little too much, It keeps us from seeking after His touch. Often the pleasure takes us from Him, But always the pain brings us back again. He longs for us to laugh and find joy through the rain, But it's always in tears that we call on His Name. Lord, thank you for valleys that You've brought us through, And thank You for wanting us closer to You. |
