THE SPIRIT'S SWORD

Thy Word's a lamp unto my feet
Is what the Bible said,
But can it guide you day to day
With pages not yet read?
Your spiritual life depends on
Time in the Word of God.
In this world of such fearful things
We need our feet be shod.
Hear the Word with a noble heart.
Keep it and bear much fruit.
That's the promise found in His Word.
Grow as a tender shoot.
The seed will grow when it's planted
In good receptive soil.
Invest life in eternal things
Where weeds and thieves can't spoil.
Hide God's Word deep within your heart.
Let its lamp brightly shine.
Listen to it and do what's right;
So abide in the Vine. |
