“But against any of the children of Israel shall not a dog move his tongue, against man or beast: that ye may know how that the LORD doth put a difference between the Egyptians and Israel.” Ex. 11:7
The Holy Bible makes crystal clear the fact that as followers of Jesus Christ we are to be different from those of Satan's army. The Apostle Peter wrote that we “are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people” (I Pet. 2:9) and again we are instructed us to “abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul” (I Pet. 2:11). Yet look around in crowd of teens and young adults, pick the Christian out. Can you? Many, many, times I cannot. Why? Because there is no difference between them and the world. Plain and simple.
Today's Christians (so-called) are no different then the rest of those they live around. As parents, Christians have fed their children to the beast and turned away for fear that if they tried to stop the slaughter, they would be viewed as instigators and hate mongers. For thoughts of vanity “thou hast taken thy sons and thy daughters, whom thou hast borne unto me, and these hast thou sacrificed unto them to be devoured. Is this of thy whoredoms a small matter, That thou hast slain my children, and delivered them to cause them to pass through the fire for them?” (Ezk. 16:20-21) God demands a holy life, he does not request it, he demands that we “shall be holy unto me: for I the LORD am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine” (Lev. 20:26). Friends and fellow laborers this is not a game. For it is written: “we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ” (II Cor. 10:3-5). Does that sound as though we are to be passive when it comes to the dividing of the light from the darkness? From the beginning it was not so. For verily it is written: “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth . . . And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness” (Gen. 1:1,2). Did you see it? Did you hear it? My LORD and my GOD!!!! He divided the “light FROM the darkness.” God created a difference that could be seen. Therefore, we the sons and daughters of God, ought also to be visibly divided from the unfruitful works of darkness. Not having ourselves buried with them in the blackness of death, but rather to shine as lights in a dark world. Not adjusting to the darkness, but rather, illuminating their deeds as evil.
Children of God, ye generation of Jesus Christ, it is time that we heed the voice of the Almighty and “Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set” (Pro. 22:28), and be as Jacob and dig again the wells of our fathers that we might drink again of the water of life that flows beneath the door of the temple of God. Let us walk in the light of God that we might see His perfect will. |
