"But I trusted in thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my God." Ps. 31:14

Do you remember the day you were saved?  Can you turn back time in your mind to when you came to the realization that you were a sinner and that only by believing in the Lord Jesus Christ would you be kept from eternal hell?  The trouble with most Christians isn't that we cannot remember, it is that we choose not to.  We allow ourselves to be so overcome with the cares of this life that we forget the joy of our journey.

When we first were birthed into the kingdom of the Lord Jesus we were endowed with a knowledge of joy – a revelation of inner peace and tranquility in the face of life's toughest trials.  This joy came not from an outside source or something that we could see, but rather it issued forth from within.  It sprang up from a fountain deep in our souls and could not be quenched.  This joy came from a knowledge that we are no longer alone in this world without God, but instead we are in his possession.  Now purchased by his blood and risen with him in his resurrection we are filled with his Holy Spirit and may call unto him saying:  "Thou art my God."

What a wonderful thing to be able to say. That the God who created all things, the Lord who formed the heavens and the earth, is our personal savior. He came and died, and rose again for the individual as well as the group.  If you (the person reading this article) were the only person to ever be saved, Jesus would have still come . . . he would have still died . . . and he would have still rose from the dead three days later.  Why?  Because his love is not only for many, but also for one.

This is one of the reasons for the joy of salvation that floods our soul with the peace that passes all understanding.  Each man or woman that believes on Jesus Christ has the wonderful privilege of calling him "my God."  To speak to the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings and commune with him daily, learning of him all the things we must know for life – both here and in the one to come.  Let us therefore proclaim with a loud voice, saying without hesitation, that "I trusted in thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my God." (Ps. 31:14)
