"Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory . . . Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts . . . Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God." Ps. 24:10, Isa. 6:5, Isa. 44:6
Today, many people are saying that no matter how an individual serves God we should understand that we are all serving the same God. This could not be further from the Truth if it came from the very heart of Hell - which I believe it has. The simple fact is that there is, as our text above declares, one God and one King.
The Bible goes on to instruct us that there is but ONE name whereby mankind must be saved. "Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole . . . Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." (Acts 4:10, 12). We can try to whitewash it all we want with our paints of political correctness. We can try to hide the fact that God created all the worlds, people, plants, and every living thing that moves upon the earth. Yet, no matter how hard we TRY the facts and truths remain: The Lord Jesus Christ is, was, and always will be the sole Creator, the sole Judge, and the sole Redeemer of all the earth and all that dwells therein.
The Bible plainly tells us that "the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one." (Zac. 14:9) And again Paul exhorts us saying: "There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all." (Eph. 4:4-6). Man, it seems, does not want to understand this fact of life. Perhaps, no definitely, it is because "There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death." (Pro. 16:25). No matter how we slice it, no matter how we wrest it, the fact remains: Buddha cannot save us, Krishna cannot save us, Allah cannot save us. There is salvation in none other than in the name of our great God, the Lord Jesus Christ. |
