We as Christians must willingly offer everything we have to God and do it with JOY. To God unwillingness is unbelief! If we are not willing to do the will of the Lord, we are not really trusting God. If Christians do not preform willingly what Christ wants done, we must not believe that what He is doing is right. We are professing that the Holy, Creator, God does not know what is best for His people! Even beyond that, we are saying that we (fleshly, sinful, fallen, wicked mankind) do!
In the life of a Christian, God demands that we be willing to preform any task set before us. He demands that His servants willingly obey His commands. Unwillingness is not an option for those that believe on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. We must understand that God demands a willing heart be in those that call upon His Holy Name. God, speaking through Moses, proclaimed: ”This is the thing which the LORD commanded, saying, take ye from among you an offering unto the LORD: whosoever is of a WILLING HEART, let him bring it, an offering of the LORD." (Exo. 35:4, 5) All throughout the Holy Bible we are in instructed and shown by example that we must WILLINGLY DRINK of the same cup that Jesus drank of. (Mark 10:39, Matt. 26:42)
Willingness is our key to the reward. An employee that preforms a task unwillingly will, none-the-less, receive payment for his service. A child of God however, must not only preform the task but also do it willingly. Remember what Paul said: ”For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will . . . when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway." (II Cor. 9:17, 27)
So then, let us strive that in all things we might be found not only obedient, but that we might also preform willingly that which God hath commanded. For we have received this promise from God that if we ”be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land." (Isa. 1:19)
