| Bound and shackled, I was nothing but dread, Filled with regret and shame. All I could do was wait for night, For the shadow of death had came. Nobody could help me with my troubles, Nobody could comfort my soul. Then something deep within me started to rise And finally took control. I shall not die but live And I'll live to praise his name. I will not kneel to the power of Satan, For the Spirit of Life hath came. I am protected by the hands of the Master, He is wielding his powerful sword. I shall not die, but live And I'm gonna praise the Lord. On an old wooden cross on a mountain On a hill so far, far away Jesus bled, died, and rose And took my sins away. Wounded for my transgressions, Bruised for my iniquity, He bore my sins and sickness When he died on Calvary. I shall not die but live And I'll live to praise his name. I will not kneel to the power of Satan, For the Spirit of Life hath came. I am protected by the hands of the Master, He is wielding his powerful sword. I shall not die, but live And I'm gonna praise the Lord. |
