Fenix showing off his beautiful feathers.
Nanday's are beautiful, don't you think?
The camera doesn't begin to show Fenix's brilliant color.

I have included pictures of Fenix and his cage because when I was preparing to get a bird, I spent a lot of time looking for ideas on a kind of cage and cage size.
It is important to buy a cage that will be safe for your bird and be big enough to provide a happy home.
Fenix's cage has bars spaced 3/4" apart.
It is 23" by 32".  The play top gets used by both Fenix and Jimi.
I love Fenix's cage and Fenix seems to be happy there as well.
Fenix joined our home in March 30, 2003.
Fenix was about 10 months old when we got him.  He is from Houston, Texas and made the drive home with us without a single complaint.  He traveled in a cockateil size cage and seemed to enjoy the movie that Elyssa was watching on DVD.
Fenix chose us to come home with.  He rode on Elyssa's shoulder through
the All About Birds store as if he  belonged there.  After a  quarantine period during which Fenix and Jimi called to one  another, we placed the 2 birds  together on the floor and to our delight, they became  immediate
friends.  Fenix has a bit of a
harsher voice than Jimi,
but doesn't use it often.  He usually  makes soft and sweet noises.   We are very pleased to  have him in our home.
