“Unwrapping Gifts” Vol 2 No 9 Luke 1:78 December 2007 As the world rushed on around the manager scene that night so many years ago, so it clamors on today. We rush out to buy gifts for those we love. Finally the moment arrives when we are settled around the Christmas tree with anticipation. The height of joy comes at that moment when a gift is unwrapped. The sparkle in the eyes, the expectant look of something good, comes upon the recipient’s countenance as they begin to unwrap the gift. In our memory’s heart we may reflect on these moments with affectionate repose as time marches on and a New Year begins. Presents are put away or used, some forgotten. There is one gift that we always have with us—God’s GIFT. Let’s consider now unwrapping God’s personal gift to you. It’s a marvelous gift: A Gift of: A Loving Gift Everlasting Love A Living Gift Everlasting Joy A Lasting Gift Everlasting Peace “Because of God’s tender mercy, the LIGHT from heaven is about to break upon us to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, and to guide us into the path of peace.” (Lk 1:78) God’s gift, Immanuel began with a cradle, went to a cross and received a crown. He did it all for you and me. The Gifts of JESUS are God’s: Free Gifts Holy Love Glory upon us Perfect Gifts Pure Love Gracious Favor Inherited Gifts Abiding Love Goodness & Mercy We can never completely unwrap God’s gifts. “And of His fullness we have received, and grace for grace—one gift after another, blessing upon blessing heaped upon us.” Jn 1:16 God’s gift multiplies within the Gift of Jesus. Mary received the first gift from God that first CHRISTmas. It began when the Holy Spirit told her she was “highly favored with God”. Do you know that same gift is yours? You can be “highly favored with God” too. If you accept the Gift God has for you. Let His Holy Spirit enter your heart and let Jesus be “birthed within you”, as Mary say, “Behold the bondservant of the Lord; be it done to me according to your word.” Trust and Believe in FAITH. God offers you, in Jesus His: Forgiveness Hope Power Wisdom Vision Shepherd Faith Healing Protection Wealth Victory Savior Freedom Heaven Presence Nothing can separate us from this Gift of God’s Love. (Rom 8:38,39). God gave His very best in Jesus and He just keeps on Giving. Will He not give us all things needful in Him? (Rom 8:32). And God has given to us JOYFULLY—Zephaniah 3:17 “The Lord your God is a victorious savior/warrior. He will exalt over you with Joy. He will be quiet in His love. He will rejoice over you with shouts of Joy.” None of us is worthy of this unlimited, indescribable gift. Yet God so loved us that even while we were yet sinners He gave His Son, Christ to die for us that we might live with Him. God’s gift is “for all people”. He gave it first to Mary a poor peasant girl, then to lowly shepherds, and wealthy wise kings. For whosever will believe and accept His gift just as Mary did. Jn 3:15,16 Jesus is His gift who keeps on giving. He continually intercedes for us and His blood cleanses us from all our sin. He is preparing us a heavenly home. We like Mary have “favor with God” thru His indescribable gift, we can continue “unwrapping” for a lifetime—an eternal lifetime! Jesus is the Greatest Gift you can ever receive. Won’t you accept His gift? He will set you free and bring light into your life. Bow down before Jesus and give Him your gift--the gift of your heart. Let Jesus be Lord and Savior of your heart today, and begin unwrapping that indescribable, everlasting gift of God’s love for you in Jesus. Blessed CHRISTmas to you. “May God bless you with His special favor and wonderful peace as you come to know Jesus, our God and Lord, better and better. As we know Jesus better, His divine power gives us everything we need for living a godly life. He has called us to receive His own glory and goodness! And by that same mighty power, He has given us all of His rich and wonderful promises. . .” Receive God’s Gift of Jesus, and start unwrapping His indescribable, immeasurable, everlasting gifts.
