Chielle Chihuahuas is an endeavor born out of my love for this wonderful little breed. My love affair with Chihuahuas began some seven years back, with my first Chihuahu love "Yoda", and as my love and appreciation for these wonderful little dogs has grown, I have applied myself to learning all I can about the breed to do right with my breeding program. I have been very blessed with friends & mentors with many years of breeding and showing experience whose knowledge and education have been priceless! They have taught me so much, and I have fallen completely for this special little breed, and my Chihuahuas have become my heartbeat and my life! I so enjoy the beautiful rainbow of colors & patterns that is the Chihuahua ... and, in my humble opinion, there is simply nothing cuter under the sun!! I am a small hobby breeder striving to develop my own beautiful and healthy line of Chihuahuas from existing quality lines. All of the dogs used in my breeding program have been carefully selected for beauty and temperament and the ability to produce Chihuahuas that adhere to the AKC standard. They have also been screened for health & genetic problems. I breed for one reason and one reason only: I LOVE Chihuahuas! It is this love that drives me to continue striving to learn and grow as a breeder and to make the right decisions for my dogs, their offspring, and betterment of this breed. While I do endeavor to produce Chihuahuas with the ability to turn heads in the show ring, my Chihuahuas are my pets - more than that, they are my fur-kids!My dogs come from some of the breed's most beautiful and well-loved U.S. show lines, as well as import show lines, and carry quality, championship pedigrees. Of course, champions don't tell the whole story ... there are many beautiful and typey Chihuahuas that were never shown and to be honest I have seen a number of finished champions I would not choose to include in my breeding program. The bottom line: I believe it takes quality to produce quality, so I have devoted myself to putting together a foundation of quality Chihuahuas from others' existing proven lines upon which to build and create the Chielle Chihuahuas line. I am thankful for the hard work and dedication of those who have developed the beautiful lines and dogs behind my dogs and thankful to have this quality foundation upon which to build and create my own line; I am looking forward to adding to this foundation and producing sound, healthy Chihuahuas of exceptional temperament and conformation! It is my sincere desire to have a positive impact on and further and preserve the future of this breed so that generations to come may know the love of these very special little dogs and the joy of owning (or being owned by!) a well-bred Chihuahua!
I may occasionally have puppies and/or adults available to share with those who are looking to own (or be owned by, as it were! {smile}) a loving friend that will give them many years of the kind of love that only a Chihuahua can give! Any available Chihuahuas will be placed only with approved, loving companion and/or high quality show/breeding homes. I absolutely will NOT sell to large, commercial breeders or puppy brokers because that is simply not the life I envision for my "kids." I also will not sell to breeders who do not strive for excellence and/or who do not love their Chihuahuas dearly. I care too much for this breed, and these little dogs live to be loved!
It is because I love my Chihuahuas so much and I breed them to be a part of my family -- or if not mine then another loving family that will cherish them and give them the love that a Chihuahua lives for -- that I screen all prospective owners very carefully (yes, I ask a lot of questions!) and all companion Chihuahuas will be sold strictly on spay/neuter agreement (or already altered) and with limited AKC registration. This type of agreement ensures that the person wanting a high quality purebred companion will be getting exactly what they are looking for and need and will also help to ensure that these precious little dogs do not end up in the hands of unscrupulous and uncaring breeders. It would just break my heart to sell one of my "kids" into breeding slavery! I have, simply put, seen some deeply heartbreaking breeder situations. Having said that, it would be hypocritical of me to say all breeders are bad, 'of course, because I'm one, so if you are a loving show/breeding home where you do not have an overly large number of dogs and your dogs are raised in a loving home environment, where they are not simply a means to an end or $$$ but a part of your life and your heart, I am not completely unapproachable in assisting you in continuing or developing your quality breeding program. I will need to know a lot about you and the type of breeding program you have so that I can be comfortable that one of my "kids" is going to the type of home these special little dogs deserve. Their happiness is of the utmost importance to me!
Lastly, I am committed to the life of each and every little Chihuahua I breed and as part of my adoption agwebspace.webring.com/people/el/loveschihuahuas life's greatest pleasures, it also comes with a high degree of responsibility. These are long-lived dogs, living upwards of 15 years. When they are puppies, Chihuahuas are very fragile and prone to low sugar attacks, from which they can die, and broken bones if not watched very carefully. While extra tiny Chihuahuas are adorable, they are extremely fragile their entire lives!! A Chihuahua is not a dog that can live in your backyard without much love and companionship! These dogs live only to be with you and the closer to you the better! If you don't want a snuggler, a constant companion, a shadow, please don't get a Chihuahua! And while they are a relatively healthy and hardy breed, because of their diminutive size (but don't tell them that! {smile}) they do require a more watchful eye as they can easily be stepped on, slip out of the tiniest of holes in a fence, and if left outside unattended, sadly, have been known to become victims to bird of prey; they also can be hurt by too rough of play and by other larger breeds of dogs! Having said all that, they will also give you a kind of love that in my experience (and humble opinion!) is unrivaled by any other breed of dog! They will belong to you alone! (But a word of warning: Some will have a stubborn streak!) They are a constant source of amusement and comfort and the best of all friends.
