| Saturday 1st October 2005 - We started our journey at 7 am, giving us plenty of time to reach our destination. We only made one stop on the way down and were booked in and settled by 4 pm, giving us time to chill out and get ready for the first night ahead. We met many fellow Elvis fans from previous events and had time to reminisce and talk about the good times and of what was ahead of us this week. The headliners for this week were supposed to be Joe Esposito, Jerry Schilling and George Klein. However, due to other commitments, both Joe Esposito and George Klein could not make it but we did see Jerry Schilling and Sam Thompson and also had a surprise visit from the TCB Band. Many live acts were featured each night, including New Generatikon, Koo Ka Choo (glam rock), Rob Dee & The Furysound (Billy Fury tribute), The Rock'n'Roll Circus, Taste of Honey (Bee Gees tribute), Mark Keeleys' Good Rockin Tonight, One Way, Gidea Park (Beach Boys & Four Seasons tribute) and Rang-a-Tang. Each night after the live entertainment we danced the rest of the night away to Elvis, including many favourite line dancing songs, and with flags proudly flying representing various clubs we perched ourselves on the stage displaying our Scottish Saltire Elvis Touch Flag side by side with the Lion Rampant representing Elvis Central from Falkirk. We have never seen so many people from various parts of the United Kingdom trying to snatch a piece of the flag singing to American Trilogy, and with pride standing by our flags. This type of Elvis holiday is non-stop, but you do have the option to pick and choose what you want to be involved in. The theme for fancy dress this year was "Beach Party" and both the Elvis Touch and Elvis Central excelled themselves by arriving in all their glory in beachwear, turning a lot of heads, but we were there for fun and fun is what we had! The closing night arrived and we all headed for the last dance of the week. In all our finery as always The Elvis Touch kept up their tradition and dressed in traditional Scottish attire - the lads wore their kilts and the lassies were adorned with tartan sashes and heather. As the night drew to a close we sat exhausted and exceedingly happy and content - another successful Elvis event. But what now .......... Well we are making arrangements to return to Mablethorpe again this year. It has been brought forward to Saturday 23rd September to Saturday 30th September this year, so the weather will be even better than it was last year. Hope to see you there.
