We're still missing you Elvis as we approach your 70th year In Memphis all appears as if you were still here. We're throwing you a party though we know you can't attend We'll invite everyone who loves you, both family and friend. There will be many preparations for parties worldwide As the love for you still flows like the rolling tide. We wish you could be there to help us celebrate The largest party ever in this your Southern state. We would love to give you a present if we were able Though nothing would be worthy, neither diamonds or sable. Since you left us many changes the world has seen But your beloved Graceland still stands serene. Kept in immaculate condition in memory of you We keep a watchful eye on it because we love it too. We will be forever grateful for the day of your birth Your party will be an occasion of much merriment and mirth. We will always adore you Elvis until the end of time We know the difficult mountains you had to climb. You breathed for us, but you couldn't survive Now, we breathe for you and keep you alive. "70 years ago a star was born - the brightest star still shines on" |
