*Stump Grinder weighs approximately 1000lbs (similar to a lawn tractor) will generally not damage lawn, or landscaping.
*Grinder will make stump into WOOD CHIPS that are of an excellent quality for use in flower beds etc. (we do not haul away grinding's).
*We can remove VERY LARGE STUMPS!!! and we can remove bushes and small plantings as well.
*Troublesome SURFACE ROOTS can be ground flush or below ground surface to protect lawn mowers from expensive damage!
*Generally, we Grind Stump to approximately 6 inch depth, leaving mulch in hole...however we can Grind up to 12 inch depth for those needing to pour concrete or roto-till garden area (let us know when you initially contact us for an estimate).
*We have flexible rate options (see "How We Charge" below).
Using this stump as an illustration...notice that the cut is NOT the widest point of measurement ACROSS the stump. The proper place to measure is ACROSS the widest portion, at the point closest to ground level to account for the flare. We measure ACROSS, not around the stump. Just Measure at the lowest and widest part for the best phone estimate!
Stumps should be cut as low to ground level as possible...we charge extra for cutting high stumps.
Any surface roots near the stump that you want ground out are extra. We charge by the linear foot for roots (measure how LONG the root is and tell us that measurement).
Payment Options...Payment is required at the completion of the job. We do not generally ask for payment up-front except for unusual expenses or circumstances etc. We can only accept cash. Receipt given upon request.
We have a Minimum Charge for any job, and the cost of fuel and wear and tear to equipment can affect the price as well (this will be mentioned up-front).
ABOUT OUR BUSINESS...
We began operating a stump removal business in 1996 in Wichita, KS. We had a business at the time called W&W Tree Service that specialized in tree trimming and removal, and a brush chipping service. We specialized in sub-contracting to small Tree Service and Lawn and Landscaping businesses.
In 1996, we saw a need to add stump removal to our line-up because nobody reliable was doing it at the time. After a couple of years, we found the stump removal part of the business to be our most profitable activity, and so after 2001, we closed W&W Tree Service and began specializing exclusively in stump grinding. Presently we are living and working on the road.
ABOUT OUR CASH ONLY POLICY...
We travel from State to State. Many Banks are making it more and more difficult to cash checks, particularly if the person presenting the check is from another State (Bank of America, the most widely available Bank in North America is the worst for this. They have enacted policies requiring non-account holders to pay a fee to cash their own customers checks. They also often will not cash checks for out-of state presenters). Additionally, we may not find enough work in one town to warrant staying more than a day or so...having to stay through a weekend to cash a check on Monday wastes' time and money. The nature of our business is such that we simply have to work for cash only. We will give you a receipt if you request it. We do declare all cash for Tax Purposes!!!
